McLeish leaves Scotland for Blues

Disappointed that it happened so soon, why I could swear it was only yesterday I was hearing "I'm with Scotland and happy to stay" or something very similar. No real surprise though, McLeish has always been quite clear that he wants a crack at the EPL. Why Birmingham, I'm not so sure - I'd say I mean no disrespect to Birmingham but that would clearly be a lie.

Levein is the one I'd most like to see there but unfortunately he might be one for the future since he still has a bit to prove at club level possibly. After that I'm not sure who I'd really want to be Scotland manager but as far as I'm concerned they don't have to be Scottish as long as they are the best candidate.

McLeish would never have taken the job if he didn't need to put himself in the shop window so we just need to accept what has happened and move on.

Big Eck was desperate for an EPL job after Rangers but unfortunately these clubs just don't rate the SPL as a particularly hard trophy to win, even win twice, and let's not bring the CIS Insurance Cup into it.

We have come to the end of a very long transitional period, we have fine group of young players and plenty of time to pick the right man.

to be honest i think it was more to do with the scottish players than thru anything mcliesh did i thought walter smith came in and changed things
and to play 1 up front when we needed 3 points is too defensive for me

Personally I don't think Billy Davies is actually that bad a choice, he's always done fairly well with limited resources wherever he's been.

Who would you have Tru?
Craig Levein from Dundee Utd, it's hard to describe how bad they were before he turned them around last season, pretty much instantly. He's a clever chap too.

John Collins would be good, he has the ego to out-ego all the other ego and he is probably the only Scot that most of the first XI can remember scoring at a World Cup Finals.

I'd also support someone like Joe Jordan or Eric Black.

Davies might be the SFA's only choice......I mean really, can anyone make a realistic short list of candidates?

Like Tru said, we have plenty of time......10 months before our next competitive match, so lets wait and see who gets sacked before then :D

Proper footballer

The Bear managed Aberdeen, who can forget him stabbing Willy Miller in the back on telly? :D

Was also Caretaker at Villa, for 3 pre season games........All of which he won :D

Great credentials! ;)

I didn't rate McLeaish and I don't think it's a really tough job.

We know who our players are and how to play now, it's a limited pool, the new manager just has to continue a steady trend.

I don't like Billy Davies or Eric Black but i'd be happy with any of the others mentioned.
