Welsh dragon call for Union flag

You see this is the kind of thing that makes me ashamed to be Welsh.

I heard on the radio today that a minister in the Welsh Assembly Government is pushing for this. Anyone would think this country doesn't have any real problems at all if this is what's on the agenda!

Yeah, and dont forget, us English adopted most of your coal mine families. So there!

I think you will find that the English came here for the work because your own country had nothing for you. And in return the Welsh language becomes a dead language and Wales is left in a mess once the Coal mines are used up and the rest of you English **** off back to your own country.

Father is Scottish, Mother English and I was born in Wales. I couldn't care which country you think is better than the other. They have all made mistakes and have all made progress in certain areas.

EDIT: The flag idea is stupid. I agree to just leave it but lets be honest it will only get replaced with the EU flag eventually.

Coming from Northern Ireland I grew up viewing the Union flag as little more than a form of intimidation. Any change to this would be a good thing imo.

Tell the lot of them to **** off, I say time for England to be rid of the kids and enjoy her retirement.

I used to love the UK and all her people, we were once a strong union, something to be proud of; that was until all this devolution crap which has given the provinces free reign to be racist (even though we are not different races  ) towards the English. I no longer love the UK, I love England and strongly dislike the tinpot little hangers on. I say good riddance to the lot of them and don't come back with the begging bowl when you realise that you are not real countries and cannot survive in the real world without the bankroll. As for the flag, I see only The Cross of St George with some graffiti on it, time to clean it up. :)

:rolleyes: Absolutel **** if I ever read any tbh.

"Do you have a flag?..

But seriously.. Wales is represented on the Union Jack.. its just under all the other representations..

I bet if you asked the Welsh they wouldnt give a damn.. i mean:

"Scotland.. dya want some government?"
"AYEE WE'LL HAVE SOME OF THAT GOVERNMENT!!!"
"Wales.. dya want some government?"
"Err.. i dunno.. shall we have some government?.. hmm.. whats on tele?"

personally i wouldn't mind it they just added a green cross/line in around one of the others (welsh btw)

Why dont you allk be civil and do what Australia did?

Joined all the states up(Ie.Your 3 or 4 country) up as one and get classed as 1 country?

Then you can all have your Own flag, You all will live under a national flag. You will all pay for one another.
England Scotland and Wales will be states of a Country then and there will be a lot less fuss:D

News just in, an improved UK flag is to be launched in 2008. Here's a sneak preview.

Worst comment in OCUK history.

Get out!

Am I the only one to realise that Wales is still technically a principality and therefore not really a recognised country?

Wales is included in the Union Flag, it just so happens that it is under St. George as they were technically annexed to England at the time of union.

The flag is fine as it is.

That's quoted for the proverbial T, so to speak! :)

Here you go, fair's fair:

didn't have time to read whole thread but, if someone hasn't photoshoped that pic with the dragon banging a sheep, then get it done ;)

also, don't you love it when MP's could be thinking up ways to really improve the country, save money, better our economical situation, improve health care, policing or something. but he's wasting time coming up with a different flag, which even if changed would do nothing for the country. its all our government ever seems to do, stupid campaigns for things that won't help but might win them some votes in certain area's, screw making the country better, i can get paid, to campaign to keep my job, to get paid. these guys don't seem to actually do any real work anymore, they are just being paid to apply for their own jobs :(

Edit: You could even make it a white dragon so you can see it a bit better

Could they not just staple a little version of their own flag onto the side of the union flag?

In all seriousness, I'm against the idea. Not because I hate the welsh (although I don't appreciate the way the majority of them have a conversation with their friends in english, until they see/hear an englishman, at which point they switch to welsh.) ...
But because it would just result in a lot of wasted money and rebranding, which already costs far too much.

On a serious note, it could be possible to incorporate the St David Cross (yellow cross on a black background) as that wouldn't look as ******* stupid as that dragon.

Better still how about St George owning a dragon:
