I am working on a PDF file of the BC list for download, with my goal to get that posted later today. In the meantime, just sign into Xbox LIVE and drop any of the games on this list and you should get a prompt for the update. If you don’t get a prompt, try again later today as the update is just being rolled out. An updated ISO file for you to download is also available on Xbox.com

This is now added to the games already listed here:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm

That is 84 new games added, in addition to the previous 381 making a grand total of 465 games compatible.

I have been waiting for "Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition" &
"Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2" ever since release date just to get a Street Fighter 2 game on 360 (apart from HF on XBLA).
Im kind of glad they are not in this update, else I would be kicking myslef for selling my Arcade Stick to MetalFace Mark :) prematurely!

I predict, sadly, that the xbox1 games will come thick and fast once xbox live originals launches. At the moment MS would make no money from giving us better BC as you would just go out and buy a second hand copy. Once it's all done through Live and they get a direct cut (and even cut out the retailer) you will see your favourites appear.

To be fair they are not missing much good games from the BC list, but then again I never seen the appeal of playing older games on a new machine :)

All down to opinion, though, you say that but then people jump over themselves for some of the XBLA games (I know they have online as an added bonus).

The annoyance would be if said games suddenly start to appear with Xbox Live Originals, as I have already paid for BC through buying the premium package (technically the BC comes as part of the HDD).

Some games people have been crying out for since BC was introduced and nothing has been done, which is most people's gripe.

Cynics would say they are protecting franchises that may impact their 360 software sales etc, I'm not a cynic myself, but holding back the SF2 games and then making us wait for the XBLA version that had less features did make me think twice. (As a huge SF2 fan, I was always going to be disappointed though..).

Myself, I'm not that bothered as I just ordered the PS2 version to play on PS3

why would they bother adding the old sports titles? fair enough, maybe add the 2005 ones and 2006 but why add 2003 titles?

strange if you ask me.

Well the XBL originals run on the same emulation software I believe so if they add them to that then the original disc will surely work, be cheaper to buy a Xbox though, so no idea why people care about BC to be honest.

Simple reason, most people do not have the space for an extra machine/network port/hassle etc. Plus when you for a feature that was heavily touted at the time) you get annoyed when it is only half complete.

I have also read that it uses the same BC software for XBL originals, so it is possible the fall update will add some new entries to the list. Only time will tell I guess.

Sometimes when they make a certain title work (intentionally) it makes another title work as well, so they add it to the list. A lot of the sports games have had their backend servers turned off so they will only work offline now anyway.

I don't remember BC being heavily promoted for the 360, more like it was a surprise they even got it to work after they said lots of times it would probably not happen. If it really bothered anyone that much they could get the original machine and game for not much more than a current release game, so I still really dont understand the desire for BC, but then again never have on any machine :)
