Hi Guys,

Anyone heard any rumors about NVidia's next gen?

And will they really call it the 9800? Ati had the 9800 out years ago ;)

Cheers,

Monkeh

Hi Guys,

And will they really call it the 9800? Ati had the 9800 out years ago ;)

Lol I'm betting that that was the reason why nvidia are making this muck up in naming their cards - having a GT better than the GTS, issuing a rev GTS, planning a new GTS with a G92 core... because they don't know what they're gonna name their next gen cards! :D

So far what I've seen on the net is the launch of the rev2 G80 (old) core 8800GTS with 112 SP's this time. Note that this is not the new G92 GTS that everyone is waiting for! Review here: http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4415&Itemid=40 That review says the GTS is fast.... it is in fact just slightly faster than the GT... but for heaven's sake they're comparing an EVGA SSC 8800GTS with a vanilla GT, which I think is not a good comparison.

Who knows what would have been the results had they compared an SSC 8800GTS with an equally SSC 8800GT???

Yer sure, don't think there will be a problem with the naming.
Its supposedly 2x8800GTX together as both makers are going towards multicore gpus.
