*Unreal Tournament III*Thread :o) Game Pics & Performance.

That CTF map wth the multiple vertical levels you have to go down around and up, and the 'nanoblack' in between the flags... arggh. Played that yesterday. Confusing :s

I know the map of which you talk. That was the one I got when I tried CTF. Fried my brain it did.

Have you played the single player? It explains what you do and starts off on the simple maps :). You can play the single player at a much slower pace if you want because the bots are as hard / easy as you want them to be. Unfortunately your team is permanently stupid ;). Although there is that 'multiplayer' campaign thing which I haven't tried.

Actually it probably would be a good idea to give it a go on the SP just to get used to how the game handles, and for it to hold my hand while I learn what to do :)

Please reply, because I do not want to make a thread for this.

I have the game now, and how do I change graphics settings?

On the screens it looks amazing, but If I play it, it looks good, but no way near the screens. in the advanced options, I can only find 2 options to change detail, and I put them both on max ( 5)

there is no AA or AF option, or no advanced shadows etc.

How can I turn my gfx up? It still looks better than the demo, but no way near as good as the screenshots.

hm liking it so far, the action is fast paced and furious as would be expected on 12+ men servers.

but i would like to see more variation in the maps. okay its futuristic because its set in the future but could they not just say that the maps are simulations of any environment.

some gothic, outsider type ones to lighten up the action would be cool...

I thought the original UT was some sort of game show? Were they battled in a virtual enviroment? But UT3 has changed the story and now its more like its supposed to be real.

Looking to get a new graphics card for this, as my current card is handling it okie, but certain maps its drops quite a bit when you get a few peeps on the screen!

Current Spec

x1950 IceQII Pro PCI-E
AMD X2 5000+
4GB DDR2

Got £200~£250 to spend (Dont include VAT as its through the business so VAT is not an issue :))

yeah the "story" is proper lame. it really annoyed me actually, so much so that i got to the 3rd level then quit the campaign.

Is it me or is this game dead already? Most of the day there are roughly 500 people playing online, where as 4000+ people are playing UT2K4.

UT 1910 servers, 2363 players
UT2K4 1785 servers, 5384 players
UT3 587 servers, 894 players

I love this game so much, i just seems like i'm in the minority.

youd be suprised how many people dont have the hardware capable of running UT3. Sure, pretty much everyone on here has kickass rigs but these forums arent a very representative sample. Loads of people still play old games like TFC, CS1.6 and older UTs cos they have no choice.

And this game has only been out like a week, so the thought that it has already peaked is laughable. The figures r probably heavily affected by the patch not being out yet also.

I think those numbers are pretty impressive to say the game has just come out, well the server number anyway, I'm sure it'll catch up to UT2004 eventually allthough UT2004 has died down.

I bought this game on Sunday but I just can't get into it, sure it looks stunning but after getting stuck into QW:ET, it just seems to be lacking something.

Well, i am getting better. I am now averaging 1 kill for every 2 deaths :) Its kind of the other way around in games like COD4 and Crysis. Struggle with these really frantic games.

Though it does not help that its always so flippin dark. Need to get brighness levels somewhere decent.

Dunno, but in these cold, dark winter months I prefer playing something with good light and good weather :)

For those complaining about the Graphics, you need to do some ini changes. I think the default max settings are utterly horrible and the depth of field and HDR really makes the game ugly. Look at this post:-

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10573007&postcount=441

Follow the links in it and apply the tweaks as you need. The ones that switch of the crappy visual effects greatly increase clarity and make the game look much better.

Also, please be aware that anyone posting numbers of people online are also including all the bots that are on 2k4. The fact is that the game is still being taken up and I am sure more ppl will be playing it as time goes on.

Graphics tweaks that have an impact on fps aswell? I'm sorry I dont have time to look at that thread yet.
