Another Ebay question if you will

Hi all,

Right first of all thanks to the people who replied in my paypal thread a few days ago. Anyways seems like i have another problem, i recently bought something off ebay...bought on the 22nd of Nov and as of yet i havent received the item. Nows after i had bought the item, the seller emailed me to say that he had none in stock but was expecting some more to come in. He did offer me a full refund but i thought, he seemed genuine enough so thought id let him get some more in stock. Anyways forward to today and checking my ebay account, i find that hes no longer a registered user. Now i find it kinda strange as this person had well over 4k worth of feedback and was a power seller...looking back on his feedback most if not all his customers were pleased with his service.

Anyways this brings me onto my problem...what do i do??. Should i file a item not received dispute with paypal or wait??. Mind you i emailed him yesterday and today to find out what is going on with regards to the item but no answer yet. Im thinking that ebay have suspended him because perhaps someone hacked his account??. So in the meantime im without the said product and no communication from him...so dont know what to do??. A bit worried as paypal might not refund me my money due to him being no longer registered or does that not make a difference??.

Any advice people of OCUK??
 
I'd get in there quickly and file a dispute, you've got no idea whether he's banned for dodgy dealing or as you mention someone hacking his account. Also, isn't there a time limit to how long after a transaction's completed you can file a Paypal dispute?

It doesn't make any difference.

I'm in the same boat, bought something last friday on eBay, on Sunday I see the seller is no longer registered.

When you try to view an item from a no longer registered seller Ebay do display information that says to file a PayPal dispute if you don't receive the item - this can be done within 45 days of sending the payment.

In my case, the item doesn't arrive tommorrow - which would be a week since paying - i'll be starting my dispute to get my cash back (only a tenner!)
 
Cheers guys, appreciate the replies. As far as i know ebay say you wait 10 days after the sale has ended to file a dispute. But doing it through paypal, it looks like you can do it straight away etc. Although when i received the mail from ebay they did say, if you paid by paypal then file a dispute with them.

Anyways ill give it till monday latest, give the guy the benefit of the doubt. If he hasnt answered my emails by then, ill file a dispute with paypal straight away. Cheers
