What about UT3?, this is hardly GPU limited, it runs great!, but performance really doesn't change much at all by going quad. Quad is the future, but it's a long time coming, 08 will be the year and this is when I'll invest.

Dunno about UT3, unfortunately I've not tried it yet. :(

I do agree with you that quad-core is far from being used properly, mine's a paperweight most of the time but I wanted one and it was cheap. In certain games like Supreme Commander though you will see a benefit over dual-core, and Crysis does use all four of my cores but it's waiting on the GPU all the time.

then will quad matter?

Quad matters to me cause of the work I do.

I dont get quad for games.

But when a game suggests quad will utilised and then it doesn't then its a let down

CPU yes, GPU no. We need the next gen of GPU's to get Crysis frames up, but the G80/G92 performance wise have a long time before they hang their hat up, one game won't change it.

Sega rally is a console port.

Crysis looks little like it was to be originally so that false and it runs on no hardware they claimed it could as the Max settings on a 8800GTS at 1280's.

Crytek/EA stamp "Dual/Multi Core Supported" on the box, not the percentage of how well it's utilized ;), they have done nothing wrong. It's just clever marketing. :D

And at no time did I day CoD4 was better Graphics than Crysis.

I did state in this thread and other threads that it looks better for the performance you get (not overall eyecandy) and that Crysis looks like a Cartoon at Medium, so have many peeps in this forum and I can quote them inc some saying CoD4 is better looking IN THEIR OPINION, so get your facts straight and dont make up crap that I never said.

You would think its a crime for someone to not like a game that was overhyped, late to release and runs like a pig on hardware above what thewy claimed it could be MAX'd on.

And the Game was supposed to run on Current Gen not next Gen so buying more and more £££££ hardward to run it is not the answer esp till the CPU issues are addressed, the Scaling 1.5 years into the future was to be added by patches.

Hmmm have you got some screenshots of how it was "suppose" to look, and then we'll compare them with the screenshots I have?

I know it has bugs and runs like crap, I never said otherwise. What I did say is that it looks a lot better than COD4, and having put hours into both of them and loving both of them equally, I can say so without bias.

It's all good saying you just don't agree with me, but in this case it's like saying "I can say the sky is green and the grass is blue, because I don't agree with you." It's almost funny, stop lying to yourself.

The game is style over content.

The game don't use MY QUAD CORE.

Like suggested.

I love it though.

Aye I agree with this. If CryEngine2 survives as long as Source engine, we'll see it become CPU limited one day and it'll all be about playing it with a quad-core/octa-core for the best performance.

Um right and...?, Cevat Yerli said it would RUN maxed on a GTS @ 1680x1050, which by all accounts it does, it may not run very well but he did not say how well it would run he just said it would run END OF. Once again it's clever marketing and well played to Cevat the guy clearly has good business sense :D.

You appear to have major sour grapes over this as in every Crysis thread this is brought up by you.
