Was Crysis Overhype?

TBH I think he's doubting the authenticity of my graph and doesn't want to say it out in the open in case it makes him look bad. I want to see such an accusation before I go and prove it wrong.

If there's some other reason I'm not getting, I'd just like to know it. :)

Not at all,

I know you are genuine.

I want a task manager shot of in game CPU process thats it.

Spot on.

Great minds ;).

Also Easy quit acting like a child/moron by reposting quotes over and over as you've misread my posts and been made to look an even bigger fool.

But why, it makes no sense at all.

LOL oh dear.

Also funny to see you ignore ALL my valid points and spam quotes over and over in order to attempt win an argument.

So far you have epic failed as you've been shown up big style :D

I want an IN GAME TASK MANAGER SCREEN SHOT thats it.

I have no doubt ULF will provide me with one.
Alright, lol. I fold. If there was some ulterior motive here I'm sure you would've come out with it.

Here's the screenshot you asked for easy. Left side is the Crysis CPU benchmark running on my primary display in 800x600, low settings but high physics. The right side is my task manager log on my 720p TV.

Tell the whole story instead of your usual half facts.

He said it would need a 8800GTS (320 or 640 anyones guess) to run MAX with 1280's and for 1600's or above need more powerfull hardware (so we assume thats GTX/Ultras), he did not say 10-20FPS and states playable if you go and read the info.

Yeah, and guess what... the term 'playable' is vague, 15-25 fps could be perfectly playable for him.

So he hasn't lied or misinformed anyone, just used clever wording.

Only I can max My hardware.

.

You sound like a poorly translated kung fu film sometimes.

Yup nice one for picking that up as well. Seem's Helmut has a challenge understanding such a simple concept, and he has the cheek to call others dumb :o.

I am damnit it's hard to pull my self away from this awesome debate :o

The silence say's it all.
Yeah, I'd at least like to see some sort of aknowledgement after he spent so much time demanding it over and over again. I mean I didn't have to go and get it, I'd already provided evidence with my graphs.

I did this purely for his benefit and now he's disappeared.

Edit: I just ran three loops of the benchmark again but this time I set task manager on high speed instead of normal. It definitely uses multiple cores when there's a lot of physics going on and this is with no AI.

WTF, you've been banging on about how he's not wrong for saying Crysis is better looking than COD4.

Unless you're now admitting that Crysis is the much better looking game.

Are you forgetting that the op is running the game on a 7900GS. Given the performance difference between the two games it is quite possible that he has to play crysis on low settings but can play COD4 on medium/possibly some high settings. Therefore given that crysis looks utter pants at low settings its quite possible that COD4 looks better than crysis to him.

I must say however bugs and performance issues aside I am quite enjoying crysis at the moment. The gameplay is certainly not the best but its still fun so I don't care. Graphically it is good but nothing spectacular (running medium / some high). Uncharted drakes fortune looks better to me. (please note the settings I am running in crysis - I am not saying crysis couldn't look better but for me it doesn't)

It hyped itself.

I never fell for it. I thought Far Cry was an average game and very boring.

So you never bought it, then you have missed out on a truly awesome experience. I have never seen graphics like it and felt so immersed in a game in my life... brilliant..

What was overhyped? The graphics... I'm more than satisfied with whats on offer. The graphics that I have with a tweak autoexec file look absolutely amazing!!!

The gameplay, we knew that it was similar to Far Cry, most FPS gamers loved Far Cry, nothing wrong there!!

Its delivered in every category for me, but it won't float everyones boat.

I can't believe its taken this long to have a thread on this forum about Crysis being overhyped... it happens to every big title.
