good game to play with the brother over lan

always wanted to do this and have never really got round to it. wanting to play some multiplayer games online with my brother over our network but don't know what we should try.

im wanting games where we can play together and not against each other.

we did play lotr online for a week and it was really fun going around together but the game wasn't that great so we stopped playing.

so any reccomendations? im open to anything

Half-life Sven co-op
Garys Mod
Any RTS

GoW is probably the co-op game of the moment. Serious sam (2) has co-op if you like that sort of thing - Personally not a fan of SS stuff though.
You can play UT2k4 against bots over lan with one copy of the game provided it's set up right. Don't know if you can with UT3, but UT3 also lets you play through the 'campaign' with someone over a network I believe.

i did ut2k4 with my bro over a lan, we're going to try the new one this christmas. et:qw could be a good one to play together too.
 
not the greatest game but i found SWAT 4 to be a fun quick play over lan in co-op mode.
i think it's based on the UT2004 engine.
