A £40000 V6 Metro?

Think of it this way:

£100k+ Porsche or £40k Metro.

The £40k metro is quicker.

lol a 250bhp metro would NOT be faster than a £100k Porsche. Honestly take the rose tinted glasses off here. What was impressive in the 80's is not impressive now

While I respect the rally group B days and the heritage cars like this come with they aren't great cars by modern standards. A race prepped Evo would doubtless **** all over that.

Depends on the road, I know rally cars from today beat the Group B cars, but on a country road an Evo will beat the best of the rear drive 911s.

Depends what model most were 250 clubman and later tuned

Clubman (250bhp) and International (410bhp)

Aye and that one above was a 250bhp model. It's all well and good finding the perfect theoretical situation the Metro would beat X car, but the fact is many modern cars with less power would have no trouble taking on even the 410bhp version.

If only for the fact a modern car is far less likely to break down like the Metro's did!!

i'd give an arm to have that car...

then i wouldn't be able to drive it...

okay, i'd give one of your arms.

I agree with the above, it would be pointless spending £40k on that.

You could get a far more capable modern day car for that kind of cash.

£35k buys you a nice modern BMW M3 too but what if you'd rather have an E-Type?

It all comes down to what you want and what you want to use it for :)

Dont get it :/ Great for a museum but quite why any normal person would want to drop 40k on that is beyond me, 40k buys pretty decent metal.

There is the door young man. I thought you had better taste. That is an AWSEOME machine. Ugly as sin, fast god I want to make love to it.

Actually, its not.

This car is more than likely Clubman spec (I can't see the advert) with around 250bhp and even if it is at full works spec it will be around 380bhp. Sure, they were quick 0-60 and 0-100, but it is geared as a rally car. Get it over 60-70mph and a 997 Turbo would destroy it, over 100mph it would be running out of breath and the 997 Turbo would be selecting 4th for the long haul to 200mph ;)

If you need to ask "why" then you will never understand! Go back to your mass production line BMW :p

Group B is now a part of history and the car is only going to go up in value.
