A £40000 V6 Metro?

Having said all that, back in the day these were bloody great things to watch, as were all of the Group B monsters. Slower over a stage than the modern cars......MUCH more exciting to watch and hear mind!

Actually, its not.

This car is more than likely Clubman spec (I can't see the advert) with around 250bhp and even if it is at full works spec it will be around 380bhp. Sure, they were quick 0-60 and 0-100, but it is geared as a rally car. Get it over 60-70mph and a 997 Turbo would destroy it, over 100mph it would be running out of breath and the 997 Turbo would be selecting 4th for the long haul to 200mph ;)

The internet is FAR too pedantic.

I could find a circumstance where a Chicken ins quicker than a 6R4 id I try hard enough.

And which one would be better through a forest stage? ;)

Awesome car, my favourite of the Group Bs. Oddly enough they were sold new for less than that after group B was finished (35k IIRC). I wonder how old the people are that think it's hideous and worth £500? Just boys I suspect, who never saw it in action :D

6R4, Impreza wouldn't even get a sniff!

EDIT
And the 6R4 is probably my least favourite Group B car...

shame i would take an RS200 over it any day though!

Who wouldn't they normally go for twice that.

That metro's engine was the basis for the xj220's engine (after they chickened out of the v12) you can get some serious power out of it if you are ignoring rallying regs.

6r4s are beasts, but they were always bettered by other machinery and your ears will bleed if you drive it, but I hanker after it a bit.

But to own that car and then rally it would mean risking it, I say stick it in a museum where it is safe, go crash some soul less scooby

Want it, Want it, Want it :D
One day I WILL get myself a Group B car

+1 :D

Weren't they only normally aspirated as well?! Pretty amazing that they were able to get within spitting distance of the 037s and 205s that they were up against!

What a horrible looking car, whats wrong with you people!?!?!

Looks horrendous. Wouldn't even consider it for a split second if I had 40K hanging around.

Agreed.......no matter what engine u put in it, it's still a manky old Metro.

With 40k in your pocket why choose this, looks like something from Only Fools And Horses, theres plenty of decent cars out there that i'd choose before this pile of pikeyness and i'd have change left to splash out on a new Quad Cpu + a couple of 8800 Ultra's in SLi :p

you're missing the point completely, that car is a piece of history.

Stop thinking popping to asda and start thinking put in a museum or take to events.

This is not a pile of pikeyness, stick it in an exhibition or similar next to your RS200 and SWB quattro and you've basically got a lump of rallying history that will never be repeated. Group B was out of this world.
I’m not sure I would be seen driving that if somebody paid me 40K actually.

there's probably a fair chance you wouldn't be able to even if someone wanted to pay you £40k!
