Looking for some suggestions, a really really open one this time.

I think the M5 has to go to free up some money and reduce my insurance premium.

For the meanwhile I'm looking for something as cheap as possible, but still unique and fun.

Fuel economy is not an issue as it's a second car, however insurance and purchase costs should as low as possible whilst allowing me to get an interesting car.

A couple of ideas that spung to mind were;

Old MX5
Range Rover Classic LSE
Volvo 850 T5
MR2 Turbo (Not sure on insurance)
Nissan 200sx

If it were a sports car I'd prefer it had an LSD.
A 4x4 is fine but it needs to be able to handle pay and play off road days.
I've never had a convertable before so that would be interesting too.

Any ideas?

i would say 200sx but i am biased having just got one myself. as for insurance group 18 i am 21 paying £1300 1yr ncb.

The 200sx provides 200bhp standard through a LSD going through the rear wheels. They can also be modified easy to gain extra power

Go for the range rover, these other "fast" cars (especially the volvo) will just seem plain slow after the tuned M5. The range rover would be something completely different and fun in its own way.
 
Yeah I'm tempted by the Range Rover, but I've had two of them before and only really enjoyed the off roading side of things, and I'm not sure how many off road events there are round here locally.

I'm quite tempted by the MX5. Presuming they should be priced well at this time of year.

Do any have an LSD as standard? The older ones I mean.

again... T5 in white, with blue lights behind the grill (:p) and stick a larger than average aerial on the roof... watch all the traffic move out your way ;)

except the women drivers of course :)

not if your sticking to the speed limit... :p

i always keep an eye out for white/dark green or blue volvos, white focus's (the most common) and the flashy M5 coming up behind me... move over regardless just to be on the safe side.

(obviously i was joking about the blue lights in the grill as thats just stupid ;))
