'Muhammad' teddy teacher arrested

It's perfectly simple, this is a stupid law being enforced by idiots.

Not all Muslims are like this and the vast majority just want to live their lives in peace. Same as the vast majority of westerners.

The ones who support this ridiculous law and punishment are the ones who deserve our contempt not normal peace loving muslims the world over.

I agree!!

The whole thing has been blown completely out of proportion! Idiots!

without going too far into the beliefs/philosophies of mohammed the blah blah....if all muslims pray to him and hold him in devine status, then why do they not all share the same beliefs.
I know you could say the same about christians, but christians are just a joke, they believe whatever they feel meets their needs at that time and ARE NOT to be taken seriously in any shape or form.
I thought mohammed followers were fanatical the world over. They seem to like blowing **** up! :p

I don't know how you can accuse others of being a joke after that post.

Thanks, you managed to say what I was trying to say, but better. :)

Christianity: the belief that a cosmic Jewish zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a woman spawned from a rib bone was convinced by a talking snake to eat an apple from a magical tree.

Am I likely to be chucked into jail by CoE now? :D

No, you'll just go to the special place in hell reserved for unfunny jokers.

First a disclaimer: I think the idea of making it an offence to call a teddy bear the name of a holy figure ludicrous.

However everyone here is going: 'how backward are these natives? What if it was Jesus?' etc. Each country has its own rules and laws, which are often very different from our own. Who is to say they don't look at our laws and equally think that some of ours are bizarre? Just as a lot of people here bang the 'if the come here they should follow our rules' drum, surely that works both ways?

You're right about the protesters, however they are in no way representitive of the entire country of Sudan or muslims worldwide.

It doesn't however reflect well on Islam, especially combined with the overreaction that was the cartoon protests.

A teddy bear. A name.

That's all I have to say.

But there was no intent, no malice. They were basically making an example of her to send a message to the west, that they believe they are being oppressed. A complete mockery of justice, IMHO
