Right so poorness has really set in and i need some advice as to what i could potentially make from my bursting store cupboard! I've got some money but i really can't be bothered to go to the shop, and the £11 i do have has got to last until wednesday!

Right here is what i have:

- 2 sausages worth of sausage meat (skins split so squeezed all the meat out for some reason!)
- Pasta
- Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
- Potato's
- Garlic
- Mixed herbs
- Supernoodles
- Olive oil
- Red Kidney Beans
- Rice

Now i know its not exactly the most luxury of ingredients but i must be able to make something out of it!

Cheers guys :)

Pasta, sausage, tomatos and garlic should come together to make a pretty filling meal.

Just boil the pasta and when it's done to 'al dente' drain it off and pour over the tomatoes and allow to heat through. Cook the sausages in the olive oil with a little garlic and when done slice into the pasta and serve.

You could have pasta with the tomatoes, garlic and herbs and cooked in olive oil. A hotpot with the sausage meat, tomatoes, kidney beans, potatoes and herbs. Pasta with potatoes dish and parsley if you have any, do you have onion as that goes nicely with that too. You could mix the sausage meat with the herbs and garlic and cook then serve with pasta or rice or potatoes. Lots of things really.

Slice sausages and cook with the garlic in olive oil.
Add the tin of chopped tomatoes and a teaspoon of mixed herbs.

Slice the potatoes and parboil in some water.

Add the sausage and tomato mixture to an oven proof dish, layer the sliced potatoes on top and drizzle on a little olive oil. Bake for half an hour until the potatoes become golden.

1 cup buttermilk

2-1/2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

2 sticks butter, softened

2 cups sugar

4 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

2/3 cup Hershey's chocolate syrup

7 Hershey (milk chocolate) bars (about 11 ounces), melted and cooled

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease either 2- 9x5 loaf pans, 2- 12x8 pans or 1 tube pan.

Measure buttermilk and set aside.

In medium bowl, combine flour, salt and baking soda with wire whisk. Set aside.

Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla with an electric hand mixer. Add syrup and melted chocolate and mix completely. Blend in buttermilk. Gradually add flour mixture until well combined. Pour into prepared pans.

Bake loaf pans for 55 minutes or until tested done. Bake rectangular pans for 25 minutes or until tested done. Bake tube pan for 45 minutes to an hour or until done. Cover it with foil immediately. This has a steaming effect and keeps the cake moister. Keep covered until cake is completely cool.

I'm sure you could eat healthier even on a small budget, garlic bread every night won't do you any good!

Yes i am trying to remain vaguely healthy at the same time! The fact ive only had 2 pieces of toast so far today probably doesnt do me any good!

This sounds gorgeous! I shall give it a go and report back.

Thanks for all thye other suggestions, i am honestly the most uninspiring person when it comes to cooking and sometimes i like to make a bit of effort to have an awesome student meal!

Thanks guys :) (apart from kthxbye ;) )

Rob

Pre-heat the oven to 250 degrees C.

1. Remove the red kidney beans from the can (do not discard the can) and then force them through a fine mesh screen. They should be a paste-like consistency.

2. Fill the kidney bean can with olive oil almost to the top. Take a whole head of garlic and sit carefully in the oil. Set aside to marinade.

3. Whilst the head of garlic is marinated, take time to prepare the meat. Take all the sausage meat and form one large ball shape. You want this to be as spherical as possible, so take your time here.

4. Once a perfect sphere is formed, roll the sausage ball around in the mixed herbs until they are covering the outside of it thoroughly. Season.

5. Carefully, using a meat hammer, pound the potatoes (skins on) until they are heavily damaged. Rapidly chop the smashed potatoes and mix together with the pasta. Blend to a dust like consistency.

6. Remove the head of garlic from the kidney bean can. Set the sausage ball on top of the potato-pasta dust in an oven proof tray.

7. Here is the hard part. With as much force as possible, ram the oil soaked garlic head fiercely into the sausage ball. Try to retain the sphere as much as possible.

8. Place in the oven and cook for 4-5 hours.

9. Remove, and carve the sausage ball. Garnish with crumbled super noodles (add flavour sachet to taste.)

Enjoy.

I would make the sausagemeat up into balls and put them in the oven to cook.

Whilst they are cooking, get the pasta cooking and fry off the garlic in a little olive oil. When its done, add in the tomato and season with the herbs and a pinch of salt if you have some and heat that up.

Add it to the pasta and top it with the meatballs!

That would be a tasty meal for one. There are other things you could do but to me that sounds like the easiest and best :)

Right im going to try the sliced potatoe idea first and ill take photos if i dont make a hash of it and will get some more sausages tomorrow and try the other ideas! They all sound damned tastey!
