'Muhammad' teddy teacher arrested

Once again, the followers of the peaceful and serene religion of tolerance take to the streets!

[B said:
BBC Article[/B]]According to some agencies, some of the protesters chanted: "Shame, shame on the UK", "No tolerance - execution" and "Kill her, kill her by firing squad".

Let's generalise things to make out it is a viewpoint shared by all muslims though!

Am I really missing something here?

She broke the law of the country. It doesn't matter how backward and evil and stupid you all think they are, she still broke the law. Really, if a Muslim guy came over here and didn't follow our law you would all be the first to say 'integrate or send him back'.

You're missing the part where they want her shot for simply naming a teddy bear.

Oh and;

Jesus what is with people and the whole "well its only a small group not representative of the whole religion" when it happens every time no matter where with hundreds of thousands of them in total getting enraged etc.

It all reminds of those cartoons and the guy telling the newsreader saying that the cartoons miss represent islam as a violent religion, while on the screen behind them a bunch of muslims are storming a Danish embassy with guns, and chanting to murder half of Europe.

Yes but the people in charge gave her 15 days for it, which seemed a reasonable, if probably heavily leaned on by the UK sentence.

But she didn't break a law they said she incited hatred which was the law broken.

It's not illegal to name a teddy mohamed.

A child in the class she taught named a teddy bear Muhammad after himself. Given that, I still fail to see what law she's broke!

It's nothing more than another excuse for the idiot brigade from the religion of peace and tolerance to 'have a dig' at us in the civilised West! Bunch of clueless muppets to be perfectly honest!

Its unreasonable how they are acting towards her, and shes going to be deported for it, after all she herself did not name the teddy really, the kids did.

Yea fair enough she broke the law, but everyone country has some irrational laws, the problem is muslims generally take all their religion a bit too seriously and it gets to the point where they no longer act humane.
Atleast our bible doesnt condemn everyone to death for the slightest things, and promotes humanity. I have no idea why i said our, my religion is rationality.

If only team-america wernt make-believe:(

They are all marching for her to get a greater sentence, thats what our problem with ALL those muslims are.

yeah that's true actually, i've lost count of the number of marches I've taken part in demanding that a muslim living here who has been broken the law/accidentally or purposefully said something derogatory against the Christian faith (remember, officially, we are a CofE country) should be shot through the head. It's commonplace around here to spend most evenings and weekends marching with flaming banners and shouting a lot.

As has been said, it's not the law in Sudan to name a teddy bear after anyone. whether or not she has 'broken a law' depends on your interpretation of 'inciting racial hatred' and what it pertains to. the fact that it's handy to be able to make an example of a British woman, just adds to the joy.

Well clearly the Sudanese court think that by naming the bear Mohammed that's racial hatred.

Let me be perfectly clear here. I think that's bloody ludicrous but it's the law. When you go into another country you must be aware of and respect your host nation's laws, traditions and taboos.

Read the FCO website on the country (link). The bloomin' Government has reams of advice there, including local laws and customs.

Then you are assuming that the Muslim community's method of expressing their anger/opinion should be the same as ours. They are a different people, with different beliefs and mannerisms (not the word I was looking for but I can't think of the right one).

To me they look ridiculous, but it's their country- they can do what the hell they like with it and I'd be very aware of that if I was ever stupid enough to go to such a country.

from the link you posted:

In the national capital, Khartoum, non-Muslims shall not be subject to Sharia law,

So the constitution has changed to reflect this, but no 'practical changes' have been made. So surely, by imposing this 'law' they are in fact themselves breaking 'the law' of the land and should be subject to the same punishment, no?

I agree with you about not setting foot there. Can't see why anyone would to be honest, not in the current political climate (going back about 10 years!)

Says it all if you ask me. So basically these people are saying "we want no free will, please brainwash us"?

I'm sorry but how can these extremests and this country's law system ever be taken seriously when they act in this way?

Also, shouldn't the signs be in Arabic or something? Surely them being written in the English language is a bit hyprocritical?

Something else as well - there was a story in the paper today of a young girl who bought a teddy bear from Harrods and named it Mohamed after Mohamed Al-Fayed, the owner of Harrods. So are these people seriously saying this little girls head would be on the chopping block because of this (if she was in Sudan)?
