*Unreal Tournament III*Thread :o) Game Pics & Performance.

Strange thing is, its been running fine for a few days on Vista for me. The freezing other people are getting only started tonight for me.

Have also been having problems in COD4 with Punkbuster kicking me.

All this started after updating Punkbuster last night, so I wonder if that is not the culprit.

funny you should say that as mine has been freezing every so often so i thought it could have been my quake wars so took that of but wasnt then decided to take punkbuster of today and had 4 games today and no freezing at all so lets hope its that

I dont think I installed Punkbuster when it asked me and I cant see it running in task manager so it has to be the game.

Not saying this isnt a potential fix for some of you though so fingers crossed for you because this bug is seriously ****** me off :)
 
That sort of thing normally happens when your graphics card is dying. But I got the same sort thing on a level.

Well it's only on that level. Perhaps my card OC isn't stable? I've got no problem with any other games, rthdribl, 3dmark06......and temps are 40c during gaming.
 
only been playing this for a bit, can't play online but am still loving instant action play offline:D:D shame single player is so lame

The good thing about instant action is the slomo on kills mutator ;). Got some good screenshots out of it as well (although you can also do that with demos I guess - not in first person though). Think I might write my own mutator to have it bound to a button, maybe a recharge meter so that it fills up when you kill someone etc. :D

That looks odd with the gun on the left.

I really need to upgrade my pc! Although I can run it on highest at 1280*1025 full detail, 24fps isn't highly desirable!

Don't want to turn down the goodness though :P.
 
left handed so I might as well :p. (even though I mouse right handed)
I'm only running it on all medium pretty much. Although it looks a bit better than those pics because of jpegging.

Deck seems to be the worst for my framerate

Beta patch 2 changelog for those who are interested.

Here are the changes between beta 1 and beta 2:

- filter settings are now saved to the .ini file.
- fixed UTUIComboBox's editbox and list getting out of sync (editbox text
could end up not matching the list's selected item)
- fixed changing gametype via combobox on server browser tab causing filter
settings to be clobbered
- changed default value for "Pure Server" and "Locked Server" filter options
to be more lenient (show more servers by default)
- Fixed ping values shown in scoreboard
- Don't show ping for bots
- Fixed Miplevel spam when applying patch to dedicated server build.
- Fixed dedicated server getting removed from the master server list if the
first player to join fails authentication.
- Bringing up the midgame menu now pauses demo playback.

To change the crosshair used for all weapons, add the
following lines to the [utweapon] section of the UTWeapon.ini file:
bUseCustomCoordinates=true
CustomCrosshairCoordinates=(U=276,V=84,UL=22,VL=25 )

where the customcrosshaircoordinates have U and V as the
offsets into the crosshair texture (UI_HUD.HUD.UTCrosshairs), and UL and VL
specify the size of the texture area to use.
To use a different crosshair for a specific weapon, simply add
those two lines to the appropriate weapon specific section in UTWeapon.ini.

well i was on the UT3 forum and there is a lot of talk about people who is getting the freezing and having to reboot just to get out of it,even in xp so looks like another game needs a nice big patch to sort these things out
 
Link plox to beta2 patch? :)

Also I must be the only one with Vista and 4GB and xfi + nvidia card having no issues with crashing at all on UT3 :p
 
How do you save the game in campaign mode? When I quit it doesn't have a resume option.

Performance is great 60fps constant, 1680x1050, everything maxed out.

You need to create a profile, if you just go on as "player" then progress is not saved, gives you good practise though!
