Whos ditching 8800 GT for new rev GTS?

Forno are you still getting one of these, since you sold your GTX a month ago for one?, I've just checked out the tweaktown review and the only test against the GTX they have is with Crysis and it get's it's ass handed in there, not sure what to think, was thinking earlier about selling my GTX for one but then slapped myself some sense :o

I'm annoyed
Lol Tom, it's one thing or the other with you :)

Btw: while I got you for one min, do me a favour and please stop feeding the troll, you keep falling for his bait which is exactly what he wants. Save your posts for someone who is likeminded and pleasant and just try your best to rise above it. If you feel someone is being disrespectful or rude just do the right thing and notify a Don.

Wayyyyyy to many supposed 'technical' threads are getting FUBAR'ed because individuals are getting caught up in a flame war.

Here, print this out to help you develop your anti-bait skills ;)

Well, considering they have a much larger cooler, and they have more shaders by default, probably a little more voltage and higher stock clocks it's pretty hard to say.

Since when the hell did graphics cards have RRPs? >_>

Since the dawn of time?

RRP varies by demand, it's up to the retailers to set the price and how close they want to get to it in order to sell more product and have the edge of competitors.

@ Gibbo if he reads this thread...

Do you happen to already have some new GTS cards at OcUK right now?

Hey, you never know. The shortage of 8800 GT cards could well be directly linked to the 8800 GTS cards. If the G92 cores are yielding well enough to make more of them the higher end chip then why not package them as such? No use selling them off cheap if you can get more money for them, albeit later on (especially with the HUGE demand for the card they could get away with hiking the price up a bit, I mean, even at the inflated price of £180 people flock to them).

Thats because at even 180 they offer great bang for buck.

Just holdon to the GTX Tom. At 1920x1200 it's the fastest card out there and beats both the new GT and GTS. If you've had it more than ~6 months you'll have gotten great value out of it. Next step is the nvidia 9800 (or whatever it ends up being called) when it arrives. At that point it'll be an upgrade worth having at ~x2 the power of the 8800GTX, DX10.1, lower power consumption and enhanced DX10 performance even (at similar clock for clock speeds as the G80).

You've got a great GPU for your gaming res, don't get suckered into the "I want an new toy, oops i've now got nvidias slowest current card because I believed the hype" thing that's going on here from people that really should know better than expect something for nothing. :D

Would I be a sucker if I sold my 8800GT for one of the GTS's? I mean I really dont know what benefit I will be getting since crysis is fine for me at 1680x1050 and with a high config tweak but I dont play crysis anymore, I said I would not get one and next step would be 9800 but the hype is so strong with GPU's! :o

Aye I'm still hurting from slapping myself :p

Just pining for some new blood (hardware)

Hopefully Yorkfield hurries up and I can get my teeth stuck into that ;)

Not really,

However I have pre ordered a 8800 GTS purely cause it was so cheap.

Penryn is hardly exciting.

4ghz q6600 is like having a 3.6ghz penryn.

There will be no noticable gain in games with penryn.
