*Unreal Tournament III*Thread :o) Game Pics & Performance.

Anyone finding this game maxing out their cpu.?

Im running at 1024x768 everything on medium with rig in sig, and i just went into WTM to see what usage was like and its got my dual core solid at 100%

Yea even at 1680x1050 my CPU is at 100%.

both my cores stay between 95-100% usage while playing this game @ 1440x900

Have a Q6600 on the way so I wonder what the usage will look like then.

All UT games have been heavy cpu loads even back to the original UT, loads of memory and tweaking a few settings to lower seems to aid in reducing cpu load a bit.

I've been playing it a few hours and its quite hard for me, some people just move so quick and dodge behind you its something I cant do I dont get how they do it so quick and sometimes they just skipping round you like one minute you see em one minute you dont, I think I may need a new mouse :\.

Just predict where they’re going to be and aim there, you will get to notice where they land and remember for next time.
You play warfare? Vehicle based is usually slower and easier to learn then DM, TDM is the next step imo. You don't need a mouse that moves million miles per cm just enough to do a 360 pretty easily, depends on your preference. Proper mouse and mat makes it easier to aim the mouse to a specific point though.

i am getting random freezes and crashes :( Running the Beta 2

Then go back to clean. :p

I prefer a very slow mouse as it makes it easier to be more accurate. I have a big mousemat (everglide titan) so I can still do 360s

Is a mouse mat really needed? I just have my Optical mouse on me desk surface never seen any benefits with a mouse mat.

If you hit the strafe keys twice rapidly you do a sideways dodge which can be fast and a good method of moving around the map. This was used a lot in the original UT especially in ctf when escaping with the flag as dodging covered the ground quicker than running all the way with the flag.

Yea I use double dodge but I still cant match the speed of some people its just insane :o

Yeah been like this for ages and is down to netspeed, connection they have and speed they have set the keys to respond to in the ini files going by what old versions did. Some of the sensitivities the players use are insane and lead to very quick movements.

i backed off my x1900 overclock by 10mhz and it seems to have stopped. Odd as it was stable in everything else including the demo.

So I could modifiy the settings in the ini files so that when I press the left key and right key I can move right to left extra quick?

Any idea what things to edit for that?

And any idea as to what improvements I could make for a crap internet connection (AOL), I just feel like I've hit a brick wall and cant improve no more and wonder if its down to internet connection, mouse or maybe ini tweaks needed.

Was in a server today, got about 21 kills and about 30 deaths, this other guy had like 50 kills and 5 deaths

well I just use standard ini settings and a mediocre logitech mx318 mouse....and I'm not amazing but I take 1st quite often.
