I've rec'd Nokia N95 8Gb

Has anyone got any good ideas for software to convert my divx files into the native screen res for the n95 ?

I am using Divx player at the moment, with full size Divx's - but the music stutters quite a lot - any other , better , players out there ?

I know it says its for Ipods, but it does perfect conversion for the N95 too. It lets you pick everything from bitrates to resolution.
 
Put my details in on the website today and passed the credit check,got the email and stuff, they asked for a £100 deposit. Now just need to put the money into my bank on monday then phone them to confirm the order.

The thing is im only 17 and still managed to pass the credit check, i thought that they would have checked with my bank about my age? ( put my dob 1 year back)

So do you think ive pulled it off or do you think that they will catch me out? :)
 
As i said in my post i put my dob 1 year back ( so it says im 18 ). I thought that since i passed the credit check they haven't noticed.

If it doesn't work im not really bothered, was just simpler for me to try it with my own bank account instead of getting someone else to do it for me.

pretty sure im not the first who's done it and got away with it. worst thing that will happen is they find out and say i cant have the contract.

Just because you are not the first doesn't make it right, have no idea what's the worst they can do, fraud? deception?

Credit check is not an age check anyway. They will give a phone to anybody who hasn't got a bad credit history, that include anyone who doesn't have a credit history as its a blank one. Suppose worst thing they can do when they find out is put you on the list for trying to obtain credit and will affect you future chances of obtaining any credit, loans, credit cards or Mortgage?

I am not questioning the desire for a new phone, or the ability to afford one. If you can afford the bills at 17 then by all means, but do get it legally, not "easier" to put your DOB back by a year.
 
I've had my N95 8Gb for just over a week, it's come up with the startup failed to initialise message once, but i've also noticed that Spiderman 3 is also missing from the phone, the wallpapers are there, but thats it.

Anyone else not have it preloaded?
 
Is tomtom working on the N95 8gb yet?

Ima ctually with Voda at the mo, but instead of upgrading 2 months ago, they offered to give me 9 months half price rental instead, do you reckon i would still be able to get this phone from them?
 
I got the phone a few days ago but been following this thread since the beginning and there are two things which bother me but havent been addressed by anyone yet:

1) Does anyone know how to sort the problem with the Nokia video manager? When I try to do a search for vids on my PC,it shows me a message that it "has stopped working" so I click ok and it closes(as it does). So far I simply use the drag and drop way of copying videos into the phone but it shouldnt be like that.

2) Related to the music playlists. It shows them by default in alphabetical order but by song name(I always used to have it alphabetically by author) and this now is confusing. Is there a way to go for "author" sorting? I can only see an "author" based sorting that is shown by each author having a folder but this is a bit lame.

It will be on there its just not in the usual place, if you read the spiderman leaflet thing that was in the box it tells you exactly where it is
 
found this cool software for the built-in gps of our phones in the bay of e. Nokia maps sucks as you have to pay to use the navigation thingy. will let you guys know how it turns out.
 
My N95 8gb just turned up an hour ago and I'm still playing with it :)
What a lovely little gadget it is :D

I just need to download half a gazillion applications for me to play with!
 
Just ordered mine today, should get it in 3-4 days the woman said, but i forgot to find out when the monthly payment would come out of the bank account. Should i phone them back or will i get a letter telling me when this will happen?
