Since my dad retired 9 years ago all he does is spend his time recording songs.
He bought loads of gear and built himself a home studio and up to yet he's made at least 40 cd's worth of music that he gives out to friends.
He's become quite expert with programs like Soundforge, Photoshop and Coreldraw because he also does his own cd covers.
The one problem he has is not listening to songs properly and doing his own versions but sometimes they come out really well.
Most of you will think this cover is awful but just bear in mind when listening to this track that he's 74 and plays all his own instruments.
He also plays keyboards and harmonica which aren't on this track.

I was impressed with it, very good even when you don't take his age into consideration in my opinion.

Vocal's are a bit quiet sometimes, or maybe that was just me

voice made me lol at 2:35 :p

Up until he was 50 (my age) he had a fantastic voice.
It was really powerful and I've seen people cry when he did ballads etc.
I think he's scared to open his voice up properly because he has neighbours either side so he's learned to sing in a softer voice.

Damn - I'm really impressed. You have an exceptionally cool dad!

His vocals are excellent - I just can't picture a 74 year old man behind them!

Cheers for sharing dude.

sweet child o mine GnR!!! hes good, voice made me lol at 2:35 :p

Kinda like Weird Al!

All in all though, I'm very impressed. One because I've never heard a 74 year old have an interest in Guns and Roses - let alone to cover it, two because of his proficiency with apps to knock out that recording. Three, because it's a really good inventive cover. :)

Forget the fact that he's 74...he's ace for any age.

Does he look like Jerry Garcia by any chance? He reminds me a lot of The Grateful Dead for some reason.
