450W enough for a 3850 pro?

It should be,

There was a really good article not so long ago which basicly said that the need for 600W PSU's was just a myth. Most PC's rarely use 400W's unless you have loads of HDD's Quad CPU's and SLI rigs.
 
I dunno about a 'Myth' but yeah its true you don't need as high a wattage rating as you may think however having a little extra headroom is not a bad thing, firstly the PSU won't be working flat-out to power everything and secondly PSU's slowly lose their wattage rating overtime so a year old 450w PSU may actually have 'shrivelled' down to 400w or lower.
 
why is it then the gfx companies always put high psu ratings for their cards, when they know that in reality a smaler psu will work
