Hi,
I am going on holiday for 2 weeks and I need some snack/energy bars - nothing in chocolate as it will melt in the heat. I don't know what to look for exactly, I will be doing a lot of walking and toilets will be hard to come by so nothing that will make me go ;) I was told that Oranges make you go toilet often, any other fruit?

I remember seeing Lucozade bars some time ago, are they still around? Worth it?
Thanks

I think you can still get those Lucozade energy tablets. Or are you looking for something to actually eat for eating? If that makes sense.

-cereal bars
-sports energy/body builder meal replacement bars
-flapjacks
-cake

although if it is hot you should keep yourself properly hydrated ;)

Hahaha those lucozade energy tables, some people go crazy on them.

Ages ago back in highschool there was one guy who would go hyper on just small amounts of sugar...etc, and one night we made him eat 2 entire packets of lucozade tablets. He went crazy! Honestly it was like he was on E or something.

When his Mum came to pick us up and take us home from somewhere she was asking him what he had taken, rofl.

If you just want a sugar boost then jelly beans are commonly what diabetics use to get their sugars up quickly if they start to hypo. Jelly Belly are your bean of choice

What about those refresher bars you used to get? Jelly beans sounds good to though! Where are you going out of interest?

I remember someone showing me at a dance festival how their 6 wrapped up pills had turned into what looked like tooth paste in a tube. Bet that was a good energy bar!

Drrooooooools....

I haven't had Kendal Mint Cake in years. I love that stuff :p

Marks and Spencer have their own brand of cereal bar which is very tasty. Apple, raison and ciniman. There may be other flavours. Its got a decent amount of calories to keep you going if your being physically active. Its also got very little fat and sugars, which is a good thing generally.

Kendall Mint Cake
We used it on Duke of Ed. hikes and it really was awesome. Tastes great!

Saw some things on the counter of JJB which may be worth trying. They were pretty expensive though.

make some of your own flapjacks, they are extremely easy, oats sugar and butter, mix it all up and bake. Can add some lyons treacle too for a bit omre sugar, chop some banana and add, hey presto, super energy bar!

Kendal Mint Cake gets my thumbs up, also Lucozade Energy Tablets - they keep me going pretty well at kickboxing if I haven't eaten properly that day.

Actually I changed my mind. Again. This is for the win - home made flapjacks are AWESOME!!!!Z

Anything with oats in are brilliant for slow-releasing energy. Go for sugary crap and you'll just get a sugar high followed by a sugar low, which is fairly worthless. Apples and bananas are good too.
