Top Gear Returns Sunday 7th October

Incredible lap from Hamilton, would be good to see him in the dry, he's clearly a bit special.

Really enjoyed the F1 feature as well, was feeling very nervous for Hamster by the end of it, that thing's an animal.

Brilliant episode, will be watching that again as I was only half watching the first half.

Lewis  that was an outstandingly fast lap, seing as it was in the wet, just 0.3 seconds slower than the stig who
a) must have driven around the track a million times
B) drove in the dry.

...probably trying to work out if Ron would let him fit 24 inch rims to the car...

PIT PIT PIT
Slow stop, but they've PIMPED HIS RIDE

I think that was a great episode.

The old car feature was quite good - a nice bit of knowledge there to add to the memory banks - even if there are "literally no" people asking the question! ;)

Although I don't like his music one bit, James Blunt was a great guest - he was a good laugh and has that rarest of abilities - to be able to take the mickey out of himself and even his music! I now like him slightly more as a person, still don't rate his music though! ;)

The F1 driving from Hamster was good - he has driven a multitude of differing cars in his career, and is a self-proclaimed "driving god", but he still found an F1 car difficult - as I imagine most people would.

And as for Lewis Hamilton - he does seem quite down-to-earth, and that absolutely blistering lap time shows that even in an identical car to other F1 stars, he has the ability to drive it very fast. I really can't wait for when they get him back in the Liana in the dry, that should be an awesome spectacle.

As always a brilliant episode.

I hope they do get Lewis back for a dry lap, doing 1.44.7 on a wet oily track is truly impressive.

No one, it was a prank by JC as he couldn't wind up James May for leaving early for the doctors..

Cracking episode though, LH was superb around in the Liana...Unlike Hamster :p

A while ago Clarkson was slagging off the I-drive system in Beemers and now he slags off the Vauxhall for not having such a system and being basic

Very good episode once again, even my girlfriend watched the show without playing her DS :)

Im going to open a can of worms......

I think hamiltons time was a lie

To say hamiltons lap was smooth is OTT imo as he had a terribl start and bogged down, cut the hammerhead and messed up the last corner, it was hardly a "wet" lap either

it was damp at best.

you cant def the law of pysics, thinking hamilton can corner as quick i nthe wet as another formula 1 driver can i nthe dry is absolutely stupid.

granted hamilton is quick but not 3 seconds quicker than another formula 1 driver.

would hamilton of challenged for the f1 title in a honda or sauber etc, i dont think so.

could someone like button of challenged i nthe mclaren i think so.

point is all the drivers in formula 1 are all exceptional drivers and the person at pole is not 3 seconds faster than the person in 10th or 12th for example tthe time differences in formula 1 are tenths of a second!!

yet hamilton made up 3 seconds over a short track. hmmm :o

its taken top gear months and months to get hamilton on the show and even then his dad had a say in it and i bet mclaren had rules etc wrote into the appearance contract or whatever he had to sign.

its in TG's best interests to make him look exceptional

next time its wet on the roads try and take your car for a blast where you normally like to drive and see if your happy cornering at the same speed you would when it was dry. doesn matter how good a driver you are you simply wont be able to because of the law of pysics.

if the car has no traction it has no traction doesnt matter what the driver does with the pedals or the steering wheel

do people seriously think hamilton can take a corner on wet track at the same speed as another formula one driver (mansell/button) can in the dry?

oh come on and get real

Clarkson couldnt of been further up lewis's rear if he wanted to.

wonder why top gear only show half the lap and not the full lap......stops people timing it doesnt it ;)
