ASUS Striker II Formula

A few have talked about it here, not much info apart from preorders in stores, I have seen a review of the little brother of it, which was a basic review and a Ref Mobo not Retail.

Thats the 1st real Pic for me and thanks, looks horrid and no wonder that massive Cooler is needed as of the extra Chip they have thrown onto the Mobo to get an old Chipset to do PCI-E 2.0.

Its one of the new Nforce 780i Tri Sli boards. (Notice the 1600 FSB). It should be very good and very fast :)

I dont get why they keep saying Tri SLI as if new and great, my Mobo is Tri SLI

Most Mobos like 680's will do 1600FSB (I get 1900FSB) anyhow (some get issues with Quads but new PCB layout fixes that (EVGA Revison with different SMD's).

I really doubt its more than a fixed/souped up 680i.

Incase anyone does not know, the story goes (aint 100% if true for now) its the same old 680 Chipsets with an addition Chipet to Bridge to PCI-E 2..0 hense the massive Cooling.

theese 780i boards are a bit of a joke, the only thing they ofer is pcie 2.0 support, no support for upcoming penryn quad core processors either

No idea WTF Nvidia are playing at, they deserve to loose sales on these.

Be better to just forget the 680 and launch a new Chipset in Feb 2008 (790 or whatever they want to call it) not this old 680+ 1 Additional Chipset Model.

I know looks aint primary, but it looks a joke esp the Lighter coloured Heatsink as it will be Alu over the current Mobos total Cooper Cooling, its said to run hot as hell more so than current 680's.
