alright guys just a quick question, my mates after a new vacuum cleaner so I've recommended him getting a Henry as I've used them in the past and they are practically bomb proof, the problem is though I've told my mate about them and he wants one but after he did a search on the net finding information about them they all state that they use dust bags, I've never used a bag in any of the Henry vacuum cleaners I've used, I thought they didn't use dust bags ?.

I did a search on google for 'Henry vacuum cleaner bag-less' and couldn't find any info, so can someone quote me a model no of the bog standard henry that doesn't use a bag please if there is one.

eh, how, I'm confused, I've got a very old blue one here and we've been using it without a dustbag for years, it just has a removeble filter under the motor, you just take the top/motor off, romove filter and empty contents into bin/bag.

They all have this filter. You're still meant to use a bag though.

I can't be the only one that have used them without a bag though surely, in my restaurant we use them without bags and have done for years, in-fact one of them is nearly twenty years old and we've never had a bag in it once, plus after doing a bit more snooping around on the net I've found a few user reviews that say that use of the bag is optional .

The filter under the motor is just a finer one, you're supposed to use the filter. A few VC's of ours have a few filters after the main bag/dust container.

So are Henry's win then? I've found a Bosch that looks 'ok' but the best in my range, I stayed away from them because we shifted so many when I worked in Argos, But thinking about it never had any back, should I get one of those ugly little *******?

You don't need a dust bag, they will work without one. Henry's are by far the best vacuum cleaner on the market - the majority of cleaning companies use them.

Henrys are good but not normally the sort of thing you'd find about the home. They are all meant to be used with bags - using them without will clog the filter, things will get through and you'll knacker the cleaner ... eventually. In the mean time, though, they are bomb-proof.
