'Muhammad' teddy teacher arrested

I cant believe she's "sad to leave Sudan" though

Why? Looking at those pictures of her before she was arrested she looked like she was having a great time. I'm sure that the Sudan is an amazing place, shame a few nut jobs have to spoilt it for everyone :(

Imagine how the rent-a-mob are going to react now though, she'd hardly last any time at all unless she was under constant protection.

I understand that she's enjoyed her time in the country, but staying would be foolish.

Exactly what I thought - no doubt there'll be footage on the news tonight of another mob waving machetes, whipped up into a frenzy by their so-called religious leaders ...

I've listened to one of his rants before - he is nothing more than a xenophobic religion basher.

'Religion basher', but he's not xenophobic. Unlike some, he manages to distinguish between 'Muslim' and 'foreigner'.

Indeed. IMO all extremists, whether atheist or religious are best off ignored.

I think that 'supernatural' things don't exist, that religion has a massively negative impact on the world, and that the world would (and will) be a much better without religion. If I saw any actual evidence pointing to the existence of any of the gods or ghosts, I would be willing to change my mind. If Jesus or Mohammed or Zeus floated in their window shaking a tambourine, any atheist would bow down to them. But it doesn't happen. So we don't. Does that make us extremists?

I don't think that's right Baz.

Mrs Gibbons, from the Aigburth suburb of Liverpool, moved to Sudan this summer, leaving her post as a deputy headteacher at Dovecot Primary School.

She left following the break-up of her marriage after more than 20 years to Peter Gibbons, a headmaster in Liverpool. The couple have two children, John and Jessica.

and

Mrs Gibbons had spent her career working in primary schools in and around Liverpool as a supply teacher and then as a literacy adviser.

She was deputy head at the Dovecot primary school in the city from 2002 until July this year.

She previously worked at the Garston Church of England school. She arrived in Khartoum in August.

She left in July/August as I understand it - and this happened in September. I think she travelled, but not more than holidays.

At least two, but they are both lies, it isn't daily (Sunday is a day iirc ;) and it's not just sport....

:)

To be honest, I thought I read it in the Telegraph the Monday after it broke the news..
