If you are renting a property on a 6 month minimum term and break the agreement are you turfed out there and then or are you allowed to stay 6 months and then have to go? Just wondering if you would still have to pay the remaining 5 months rent for example.

I think you might need to be more specific about how you "break the agreement".

Say you got an animal which didn't damage the property but no pets were allowed.

So nothing that annoys the neighbours or causes nuisense in that sense.

This is all down to the landlord.

probably turfed out and don't have to pay, or made to get rid of the pet and stay for the 6months. But I assume they could turf you out and pay rent.

Depending on how "strict" this landlord is on the term, my massionette don't mind hamster, birds e.t.c in cages.

Cats *may* be allowed if living downstairs (apparently).

Otherwise, no others.

Well I have cats at the moment you see but haven't disclosed this, they're completely non-destructive and even if they were I'd be prepared to put right any damage they may cause.

It's a 3 story town house.

My girlfriend had a stray cat come stay over for a few weeks - during them weeks, the landlord decides to pay the house a visit. They had to quickly hide all the cat's item and throw the cat out for a day.

The cat returned that night after "forced adventuring" for a day.

Never saw the cat again 3 days after...

Anyway, just give your landlord a call, speak to him informally - ask him in terms of scenario / hypothetically. Hopefully he'll be nice and allow so - if now and he wants to visit the place, hide all stuff and throw them cats out.

claim you're looking after them :)
Friends illness or death or something, they have to warn you when they are coming remember :)
