Hi

The girlfriend and I are looking at going to Leeds for the weekend and as neither of us have been before, we are looking for some ideas on what to do/where to visit and see etc.

If anyone who lives in Leeds or who has been can suggest any ideas, I would be most thankful :)

City Centre will be packed.

There's the Royal Armouries, but that might be boring in your view.

Errrrm, Leeds is pretty poo tbh, if I think of anything else i'll post em here.

Im sure the good lady will like to look at the shops too, what is there in the way of shopping areas, obviously the city centre will have main shops but is there anywhere else too?

There's the White Rose Shopping Centre on the outskirts.

It's huge and indoors (=warm; which is good!) but will also be packed to the brim.

http://www.white-rose.co.uk/ - although it might be a competitor link because there are a lot of different shops in there :D

Edit: Oh and I think the German Christmas Market is still in Millenium Square (City Centre) - but it's hellish dear! Bloody scamming Germans!

The city centre will be heaving but have a walk through the arcades, and try on the expensive stuff, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Harvey Nicks, loads of posh shops for her, head over to millennium square for the christmas markets and then depending on the weather i'd get the bus out to roundhay and either go for a walk round roundhay park or go to tropical world.

If you're going out on a night out; have a meal at Bibi's (http://www.bibisrestaurant.com/) and then head over to Tiger Tiger for cocktails or Hard Rock Cafe for the atmosphere. There are loads about, and the students will mostly have left, hopefully for you.

Sunday, I'd recommend just having a meander round, Harewood house is nice, but a long way out for you, http://www.leedsliveitloveit.com might help. :)
