I have an Akasa Zen, a Q6600 G0, and it's on a GA-P35C-DS3R.

I am looking to overclock, so would like a cooler, no real budget but up to £35-40, if it's worth it.

My chip currently runs idle at about 37c.

Rig in sig.

I am bascailly asking what will fit in the case? becasue it has a funnel on the case over CPU, obviouisly I could remove this, but would that then be detremental to cooling etc...

thanks in advance, I need to order this tonight aswell :D

Yanto.

Rip out the CPU chimney (actually carefully unbolt it;)), it's only useful with the stock cooler where it gives a cool air stream. Try a Thermaltake V1 for something different, but excellent, or a Thermalright Ultra 120 for the best air cooler.

The Zen is quite small, would they both fit? I quite like the Tuniq Tower would this fit? also if possible I'd prefer not to have to remove the motherbaord as I've just built this system not so long ago.

I have had a few of those cases and they're not bad. I use an Arctic Freezer Pro. Remove the chimney and you're all set. One thing I had a slight problem with was I replaced the chimney with a fan and when closing the case I had to unsure the top of the freezer pro wasn't touching the fan. But if carefuly done you'll have no probs. I saw a huge difference when I turned to the freezer pro, and it's a lot cheaper then some other coolers.

Both those fit in the almost identical Jeantech case (just the front panel is different) and the V1 has a push-pin mounting system.

would the tuniq fit in?

I cannot afford the Thermalright if you have to buy a fan for it aswell.

How far could I overclock with the V1?

Thanks, Yanto.

I got a Thermalright SI-128 CPU Cooler and put a Xilence XPF120R Red Wing 120mm Quiet Fan on it. Its a push pin system which went on my P35-DS4 no problem, the base on the SI-128 was flat and it runs cool and quiet, can recommend these parts, plus it keeps ram and other bits on the board cool;)

cheers for that,

but my main concern is if it will even fit in my case or it will be too tall?

the external case width is about 19cm if that helps.

Does it matter if the heat sink touches the side panel?

Okay, simple question, I want a Tuniq Tower (unless anybody has anything against them?), wil it or will it not, fit in my Akasa Zen?
