Hey, I've got my 360 hooked up 2 my laptop and so far I can view pictures that are in my laptops shared folder.

Now I have a few Xvid videos, and I can't see how to access them in the videos tab anymore.

Any ideas?

Thnx. :)

ALL SORTED NOW! Sopranos - streaming to my TV.... ahhhh... heaven

For the record,

I use WMP11, add to libary the folders with whatever I wanna stream, allow my 360 to connect to it

Pretty much it tbh

Media center work with Xvid/divx or not?

I can play them from a USB key but when i use MC it lets me see the files (with a nice preview) then it locks up my 360

Could someone explain how this all works?

Contemplating getting a 360 and i'm in interested in what is required to send media from the PC to the 360 in order to watch it on a TV etc. or whether it would be easier to connect the TV to the PC straight off.

Connect both the 360 and pc to the router, the 360 can see the HD in the PC through Windows Media Player 11 <- This bit is very important, and you can select any file you can see and play it (music/video), or view it (photos). With music, you can stop the in game music and play your own mp3 collection in the background along with the ingame SFX too.

Does anyone have any idea's what I could be doing wrong?

I have a cable that's plugged into the routers ethernet port witch is connected to the 360's ethernet port. I then have the router connected to the pc via usb. I can't the 360 to see the computer.

I'm doing it a slightly different way.

I'm using internet connection sharing over an RJ45 cable to my laptop, gives me the net on the 360 and I can watch films and stream xvid TV series like Sopranos to a larger TV. :) I just have to put the videos in my shared folder and the 360 picks them up.
