Playing through crysis using @ 1680x1050 with everything on medium settings.

If i install another 8800GT will this allow me to change everything to high?

Rest of spec in sig :)

Ive got very similar spec to you, and I play Crysis on High at 1680x1050. Should be fine with that you got dude. FPS is around 20 - 37 in places. But still playable in my eyes.

I can play it on 1920x1200 @ high settings. It is playable, but sometimes gets a little slow at times.

Do you prefer 45fps+? because im finding 29fps+ playable on crysis with 1680x1050, Some very high/high/medium effects.

at least 1 game is not worth £180 considering its just crysis, wait for sp3 apparently it boosts crysis and game performance by a few clicks.

Am I right in assuming that this is a 256MB GT? If so SLI will not help you.

My 512MB GT does all high easily at the same resolution.

That's why I asked if it was the 256MB model, then said if so SLI will not help.

way to blow it out of proportion son.

to be fair i think you would still see some increase in fps, in any situation where the vram used is circa 300mb. so thats all medium and high settings at that res. shame the 256mb models are actually quite pricey

You would see a slitght increase but considering its crysis its not worth the upgrade, 256mb is not enough to play the latest games on max settings.

No its the 512Mb model, I got it from the first batch OcUk got in.

Its very smooth all medium ( not sure what FPS as i cant ger FRAPS to work ) but with all high its very jerky

Not sure whats wrong as ive got a fairly beefy system and my games are installed on one of the WD 16mb cache drives

Running Vista Ultimate as well.

Which driver version is best, im on 169.04 :)

Erk, not sure what's going on there then.

Might be these though. As someone else mentioned, give 169.09 a try as it's a fantastic driver, and I've never really played Crysis under Vista as I use XP so that might not be helping things either.
