What is regarded as the best? I would be willing to pay up to £300 but cheaper the better. Obviously I would much prefer a canvas/leather bag but I don't have the space for it to hang or to get a stand for it.

I was looking at these so far:

BOB

Wavemaster

Slam man

From what i've read they are all too easy to knock over even when filled.

I was at fitness superstore and gave the BOB a punch and it was a LOT softer than I was expecting, the face gave way in an unrealistic way.

If you are able to get a bracket or a decnent stand then that is the way to go for a punch bag, I think things like BOB are best if you are training in a MA and need to practice certain moves.

Problem with a bracketed hanging punchbag is having somewhere strong enough to hang it.

The stand is very good. The bag is ok but the best bags are the 45kg title (cream leather and red and blue leather) for durability. We have ones 3 years old in the gym and they look brand new dispite taking a pounding 5 days a week

I would love that set up but as I said I dont have the space unfortunately

Its the height thats the issue as I would want to keep this in my garage and its not tall enough for any of the stands I have looked at

If it's in your garage don't you have girders that you can screw it on? I have a 50kg bag hanging in my garage without any issues.

Yes and I have done this in the past but it ended up breaking the roof. Its only asbestos with metal girders holding it in place.
