Got a sealed game that I want to exchange for a different one, however, I have lost the receipt.

What can I do? Do certain high street retailers have different exchange policys?

Paid in cash so no way to prove it, that's why I'm asking here.

Cheers,

up to the individual shop, you have no rights to an exchange but individual shop policy may be favourable

As above really. I had a sealed Tomb Raider and even though it was an exclusive to the shop they wouldn't accept it back without the reciept, thankfully I had a friend there so I managed to get her to do it as she knew I was being legitimate.

It's all down to shop policy though.

You dont need a reciept for returning a product if its faulty

However you dont have any rights (unless the shop allows you) to return items you no longer want

So really up to the shop, they might but more than likely insist its store credit

Yell.com might help you ;)

sometimes I think instead of asking a load of people that don't know, its easier to call and ask the person that would know.

call the shop, man!

dont call.

go INTO the shop with the game.

But dude do you not remember when you bought it? What date it was? As this is ENORMOUSLY helpful to them.....

yes you need a receipt (though you probably wont if its unopened but still has shop stickers etc on it and you bought it recently) but seeing as no one (again) has mentioned it... shops keep receipts too!

What happened to your receipt?
