Ok, I managed to get mine to 1000MHz 2.3V 5-5-5-15. Should this voltage be safe?
Yes, as its within the warranty specs the RAM is rated 1.9-2.3v

Has anyone managed to this RAM to run at 1000MHz but with 4-4-4-12 timings? Just tried it at 2.3V and it wouldn't even boot.
Ive over clocked my cpu but what does overclocking the ram do? Mine runs at stock speeds at the moment. What does it benefit?
They're all set to stock settings and i've run memtest on each of them seperatly and no errors are shown. It's just when I put them all in together.
I've even tried upping the voltage to 2.3v which is the max for my RAM and I still get blue screens when I get into windows!
Someone on here suggested that i up my NB voltage and try with 4 sticks and it worked no problem 1.5 v through the NB made it a bit toasty but a 120mm fan aimed at it and its sweet.
For the record currently have 2gig of the geil ULL in my main pc and 2 in my second pc both running 1066Mhz @4,5,4,15 memtest stable for 8 hrs![]()
Nice information, well done and nice timings and @ 1066Mhz
Did you need to increase ram voltage to attain 1066Mhz?
Sorry forgot to add that for 1066 4,5,4,15 i needed 2.3v through them.
One pair will actually do 1111 5,5,5,18 @ 2.3 but its not 100% stable yet and im still fiddling.
are you sure u havent overclocked the RAM to ?
usually (in socket 939 world) when u up the FSB to increase the speed of the processor, your RAM's FSB also increases unless u ask it to "hold" at a certain FSB, but YES if u increase it, it wil be faster becuase data is transfering to and from the RAM & CPU at a faster speed
Hi
I've just bought some from the bay...
Well i will be using them (when i get it all together)
E2180 CPU (going to overclock it)
motherboard - unsure, but i might be getting a Gigabyte 965P DS3 (rev 3.3)
Has anyone managed to get the timings lower than 4-4-4-12 at 800MHz?
