The Pagid FR pads leave a LOT of dust... noticably more than the Rover OEM ones.
I have heard EBC greenstuff is meant to be less dusty.

I have mintex extremes on the front of the ATR. They quote 25% more stopping power over the OEM pads, which I have to agree with, the car stops a fair bit harder with them fitted. They were cheaper than the green stuffs etc. I got them from http://www.brakesint.co.uk/

Noise is a hard one because I have drilled and grooved disks so there is vibration created from that. They dont squeel or anything. I have heard them on other cars and they just sounded like stock brakes.
Dust wise again, my disks are basically cutting the pads to hell so I can't comment too much.

^ I'd get these. It sounds like you are happy with the current performance, so these should be the same or similar once bedded in.
As for squeeling, I've found that normally has more to do with the caliper than the pad... A bit of copper slip between the pad and piston normally eliminates squeeling.

EBC greenstuffs may be twice the price but twice the price is only £40 difference. £40 over 4-odd years is **** all really.
As posted in your last thread, I have the greenstuffs and since then I've paid a bit more attention to their performance (thanks to the weather I have to actually round corners now
). They really are great. I've had to do some pretty late braking at roundabouts etc. and they are completely dependable.
Noise - no difference. A very slight hum can be heard under hard and slightly longer braking but it's probably standard and definitely not a 'squeal.'
It takes two weeks now for my wheels to turn noticeably dusty, rather than the 4-5 days that used to be with the BMW OEM ones. After 2 weeks the OEM pads had them completely disgusting; the EBC's have the wheels reasonably black but nowhere near as bad looking. In fact the OEM's were annoying me so much that I ditched them with 7000 miles still left on them, glad I did and it wasn't really a lot of money considering the length of use I'll get from it and the improved dust levels.
Buy the damn things to stop me posting about them

I always go with the original manufacturer pads. I mean if the brakes are good why change them?
Performance pads usually come with a downside like extra dust, the need warm them up or just eat your disks.

id get the pagids out of that list. i dont think they make a bad pad. theyre part of the TMD group (or something) and they do the 'performance' pads. seem a bargain too
ebc green seem to have had many bad reviews from what i saw when looking for pads. they dont take heat too well and can fall apart prematurely. ebc yellow seem to beat ebc green every which way.

Your brakes I'd bet money on are OEM, and the OEM brakes age well, not seeming to lose effectiveness over time, I never regretted a full BMW brake overhaul at my local stealers,despite the price! - the brakes were astonishing for a 2 ton car (e38 7 Series).
Your not the kind of person who drives on or near the limit I think, so, why go for anything uprated.
Keep it OEM mate.
Greenstuff are very very good, but, not so hot on brake dust in (my friends) experience!

OEM spec EBC then, no need to be a pedant, Fox knew what I meant.
Off Topic BUT...
Brake fade should NOT occur during a single 70-0 stop. That would be your brakes not working. Fade will come from repeated heavy braking, not a single stop, wet or not.
On Topic...
If you are really only doing 5 miles from cold/50-70 miles a week, then just fit OEM/OEM spec pads. They will work from cold, whereas even Green Stuff are designed with a slightly higher operating temperature in mind.

i cant remember if i replied to this in a different thread but whats wrong with the current ones? if they do everything you need replace them with the same.
no point buying performance pads that take a couple of miles to get heat in when you're only doing 5 mile journeys.
lol @ the warnings - are all the mods on that time of the month or something, nearly all the threads i've looked at tonight have petty warnings?
