My fiancée completely doesn't get gaming so I'm thinking of getting her a DS Lite and some games for Christmas to indoctrinate her into joining the dark side.

She used to play the Amiga a lot so I was thinking of picking up something like Rainbow Island which you can get for the DS, any other ideas? Note that if I bought her Nintendogs/Barbie fashion designer etc. she wouldn't be best pleased.

Yeah my mrs has no interest whatsoever in games

But, when I had a DS Lite she really got into Picross (as did I, cracking game!)

And also Brain Training -> especially for the Sudoku

My Mum loves the puzzle games for the DS, things like Bust a Move DS, Zoo Keeper and Polarium. I'd also recommend Picross.

Is there much in the way of multiplayer DS titles to play with the lady friend? Surely that would be worth a look in. Provided you own more than one DS of course.

trauma centre under the knife
cooking mama
phoenix wright ace attorney

do a search, there have been quite a few threads of this nature already :)

Brain academy and brain training. Super mario.
Zelda is a suprise hit. My missus is a Zelda zombie at the moment. She normally hates games. Never played my 360 or PS3 but with Zelda she is hooked! ( she's in her 30's btw) :-)

Also, is it worth buying a case and those screen protector things?

It's probably worth having a case if only so you can carry other games, a spare stylus and headphones around with your DS.
The console itself is pretty robust and the clamshell design protects the screens from scratching.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Annoyingly while everyone had stock the other day, suddenly there are no DS' anywhere to be found on the highstreet. I was planning to trade in my PSP to put towards it, but there's no point getting store credit if they don't have it in stock!
