Games that never became popular

Ive just completed 'Second Sight', i must say it was quite a good game.

I would recommend it to everyone here, well worth the 6 hours to complete it.

Gfx are ok, nothing special and it has a few annoyances but overall, good fun and i had never heard of it.

If anyone wants to play it, it is currently a free game over on GameTap.

Trespasser!!

base on the lost world: jurassic park

the shooting/aiming system in that game was funny lol you had full control over your right arm hehe hard to aim in a hurry lol

and when you run you knock your weapon out of hand if you pass some thing lol

none the less good game hehe

Imo the cossacks was MUCH ahead of it's time and I still love to play it today

Ah, another Cossacks fan. I thought it was just me. :-)

I still have a few annoying levels which I've never managed to beat on 'Hard'. I don't play it regularly, but it's something I can never quite bring myself to delete off the HD, and I find it uniquely satisfying as a way to take a break from reality for a few hours.

I was really looking forward to Cossacks2... until I played the demo. That made my head hurt!

Richard Burns Rally is in my opinion the most under rated game ever released on the PC.

Undoubtedly the best rally sim I've ever driven. Very challenging and satisfying. The only problem I had with it is I'm not a big fan of racing the clock... I like a bit of bumper-to-bumper action.

a game that didnt have much hype upon release and still doesnt really considerign how big it is outside of europe, is Starcraft/Starcraft: Brood Wars expansion. i think its abrilliant game, amazingly well balanced RTS, hasnt really taken off in the UK, but is quite big in USA/Canada/Germany/Poland and is professionally played in Korea (recognised as Korea's 2nd national sport...behind football) - but again this has never had hype, particularly in the UK!
StarCraft is actually one of the biggest selling PC games of all time (9.5m - only Sims has sold more), but true that it didn't receive much hype on release.........but they been hyping up StarCraft 2 ever since the 1st was released!

Starcraft was huge before its release (thanks to the fame of its counterpart Warcraft?), huge when it was released, and still is huge nearly a decade onwards.

How you can even think of saying it is 'one of those games that never became popular' regardless of how popular it is in the Far East, is totally beyond me :p

Now Original War on the other hand...

I'm a complete noob in terms of campaigns, all the missions except the tutorials pwn me :p.
Single missions: Most of them are easy imo as the ai isn't that bright unfortunatly, hardly makes ranged units just spams hundreds of pikemen :(.

Wanna play EW or back to war mp sometimes ?

Cossacks 2 is poor imo too, tryed the demo and removed it.

any1 remember kingpin - Life of crime??? that was a good game (not greatly popuar, but not as popuar as it would have been :() i remember the reason for this being at the time on release there wernt many systems out there that could fully handle the game + even if you did have a high spec machine there were curtain openGL issues taht prevented the game from running at all :(

erm.... snowdog, im lokking at your xfire sig, are you running worms armageddon in win XP cuz i could never get the game to run in greater then win ME :( i miss that game

In my opinion, I really dont think that the Max Payne series got as much fame as it deserved. I could be wrong, but i don't know many people in real-life that have played them.

the Max Payne series was revolutionary!!! i loved that game :) cant beat bullet time just to bad it would never work online
