Looking for some critique on my Loch Venachar pano which I'm hoping to get printed for an xmas gift:

This is a quarter sized low compressed jpg, hence the pixely text. Looking on feedback whether the generally text and layout is OK. (can't do much about the overcast sky in the panorama)

I have a few cheap frames which can fit a 18" by 8.5" , and I can get a print size of 20" by 8" using photobox so I'm hoping this image should be ok size wise.
(Unless I'd be best designing the image around the 20" by 8", then trimming it down to fit?)

Alternatively should I look elsewhere for getting a custom print size to fit the frame (actually 46 by 21.5cm)

A smaller, sans serif font on the bottom right of the pano would do better, as the current layout and font is too distracting.

you could use a serif font like High Tower Text, but i'd put it in the corner and make it small (so you have to be close to read it)

right now it looks like a bad "motivational poster"

howabout like this:

The text/border ruins it for me, maybe consider making the whole border black and the text white. Or the opposite, the whole border white with black text. But just use 1 border rather that the 4 currently.

i know a glass cutter who would do me a one-off like that. i'm sure its possible.

what font is that though?

And you can get a glass panel that size and shape can you?
Can get glass pretty much any shape, and the clips will go anywhere you want, little bit of DIY but I think that's probably the best idea that's been suggested so far.

I love those types of frames.

Aye, im sure its possible, but unless your friendly ith your local glass cutter, I suspect it might be expensive and a bit tricky to get hold of. Might be worth a try though I suppose as it would be a nice way of doing it.

I'd ask all local art/art supplies/photo shops and the like who may offer framing services. The massive border destroys the image. Do your damnedest to get a frame the right size.
If you MUST oversize, then leave the majority blank, and significantly reduce the text size.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll have another play with the image after work and see what I can come up with.
Regarding the frame size, I have already given a different panoramic print to my sister a couple of years ago and it used the same sized frame (was able to get them 3 for the price of 2 at a high street stationers a few years ago) so I think it'd be good to have a matching frame.

Thanks for all the replies.
