Weekend Football *SPOILERS* 8-9th December

Ronaldo penalty was absolutely outrageous, calling it a dive would not do it credit , stuck his own leg a foot out to the side to try and catch the defenders leg and then when he couldn't reach threw himself in a heap

Ronaldo "simulating" to earn a penalty? Surely not

It's disgusting, and needs to be dealt with - one of these flops in the box will cost a team in a big game soon.

However, it can sometimes go wrong....

Disappointed with Ronaldo, not only was it not a penalty but he didn't give Tevez a chance at getting a hattrick. Very selfish behaviour indeed. Could have had more goals today but I think the rain had a massive effect on our game, the ball just wasn't moving. Derby were a little lucky with their goal, but at least they tried scoring against us when they had the chance and not just sit back with all players in their own half defending. In better conditions they may have scored a better goal today.
Agree, very selfish not to give Tevez his hat trick chance.

Liverpool 11:
Reina
Arbeloa Carra Hobbs Riise
Gerrard Mascherano Sissoko
Voronin Crouch Torres

Suprised to see Hobbs start with Carra being fit, guess Sami isn't able to keep playing twice a week. Looks as if its going to be some sort of 4-3-3 but not sure how it'll work.

Voronin will play wide I think

LINOGE - who is that guy at the far left of your signature pic - he is huge - is it Duncan Edwards?

It is indeed. Always a big guy for his age.

Nice to see that Ronaldo wins a penalty by cheating after the ref cheated him out of one last Monday.

o well thats great, been waiting around all day to watch liverpool and go and put the tv on, guess what virgin have removed my setanta .. rang up last week to cancel the old subscription to it(got it when it was about £6 for a month or something..) and then said oh now you'v cancelled you can put that £1 for 2 months deal on it thats on their website, so the person did it all. Ronaldo is our Penalty taker, not Tevez. Ronaldo was told to give his last penalty up to Saha, what's the point of having a defined penalty taker if you're not going to take them.
Tevez is a striker and gets his chances in the match. For me, it's fair, you give the penalties to the penalty taker.

However, it wasn't a penalty. I guess you could say karma for last week, but it's disappointing to see at any time, especially when he doesn't need to and almost never does.

Any striker on a hat trick would be rightly gutted to not be able to take a penalty.

In a tight game I'd agree with you. And Ronaldo is our best penalty taker by far, so I'm sure he was as certain that he'd score as I was.

However, in a game that's coming to a close and you're comfortably winning, I do think it's a little selfish to not give someone who is on a hat trick the chance to take then pen.

why did he rest carra! bugger!!

I thought he was. Either way, like I said. Not a strong team out there, though you should still have enough for Reading.

Edit: Carragher is playing, unsurprisingly, it was Carragher who gave the penalty away.
