I ordered the parts for my new system about 2 or 3 hours ago however some of the parts i had been considering were out of stock (lian-li PC7 black) so i decided to go with a different case which was the Coolermaster.

Coolermaster RC-690 Dominator - Black (No PSU)

Has anyone had any experiance with this case at all and if so, are there any problems / annoyances?

I quite like the look of this, right price point, 5 hdd bays. i don't like stealth bay covers :p I've just dug my centurion 530 out the attic yesterday, not a bad case, but only 3 HDD bays as standard. Damn noisy though, rattled and hummed like a good'un.

I just bought one the other day. Should arrive tomorrow, it looks awesome!

I'll take some pics of it once I've completed my build.

Ive got a question for you lot aswell :)

I ordered my bundle yesterday and all components were in stock at the time except i was waiting for a PNY8800GT 512mb to come in. I put it down for next day delivery however the delivery date was also the day that the 8800gt came into stock. Should they have sent me the package today with the 8800 ib it or will they send it on monday? (my email is acting up so i cant check on it at all)

They usually send stuff once all items are in stock, so I reckon monday if it is in stock already.

Not sure what to do now as I was going to go for this case. On the web it has had a lot of good reviews.

I don't like the Atntec 900, the P182 looks nice but is really large. The Dominator is smart and compact which it needs to be as it will be going in my front room. It has 7 120mm fan bays so there is plenty room for cooling.

Seen a case gallery over @ hardocp and it looks pretty good for the money and the cable routing is good also but if it was a choice of lian-li pc7+ or this i would probably go lian-li but that is just my own opinion .

Am impressed with the looks of this case, says its got loads of space for even SLI 8800GTX, love the front very well ventilated cooling... bottom and top 120mm fans and even on the side to give the hdds a good cooling including the cpu too !

Seems to have all the ticks in the right areas and cable managment too, look forward to your reviews guys !

Hi everyone. Just signed up to the forum. Have been an enthusiast for many years and built my last 4 major systems. I'm about to start my 5th. I have chosen the dominator case for its value for money more than anything else. It seems to tick many boxes for £50. I suspect it will be a tad placky in places at that price.

Anyway, i find the forum very interesting and will be happy to share my experience of the case.

PS: I'm walking away from my Antec P180 - mine is absolutely falling apart and has to be one of the worst cases I have ever owned. Absolute pants. Front door broken off. Front USB ports fallen out ! Front fan cover snapped off. Side door warped and very difficult to remove and re-fit. Top fan cover loose and falling off. A friend of mine has near identical problems with his. We will be taking both cases to a sledgehammer photo shoot. Watch this space :D

P182 is weak and flimsy I know cos on the 1st day I swung the front door back and it broke one of the hinges.

Ended up selling that PC, ive had 2 Q6600 pcs now in the last 6 months lol, might be moving onto my 3rd also.

But as it looks the coolermaster case looks a lot more solid and robust, im looking towards the cosmos myself for a mans case, I dont want any weak alu or think plastic cases and thats coming from a lian li £150 case owner:)
