There is normally a padlock in the corner.

Is this safe?

Doesn't look like Paypals current homepage, nor does the URL look similar.

I'd leave it, visit paypal.com and login through their own homepage.

To me it just looks like the page you go through to pay something through eBay, with the sellers custom ad at the top.

Only thing that concerns me is the red x pic in the top left.

It depends where the link came from, if its a well known company then i doubt they're going to try steal your details with a fake paypal page.

That link looks fine. The logo in the top left is just the theme people can add to their Paypal payment page.

As someone else said, login at paypal.com if you're really unsure.

ok, thanks guys

i would have liked to have clicked on their invoice, but its not a problem to send the money to their email address.

I always find the best way to check if im unsure is to put in some false details.

If you get told the deatils are wrong, its legit. If it bumps you back to the homepage (Usually the real one) its dodgey

I don't know if anyone else is the same but if I'm logging into Ebay or Paypal, I always do it directly via the exact URL. I never click any links to login to financial or vulnerable services. It's just good internet practice and certainly offers you greater protection.

This isn't true. I had a spam email the other day, for the 'bay. I reported it but thought I'd try it out with some fake details to enter - so I could see what info they want from people.
I put some random details in and I was told the details were wrong and to try again - which I did then it "logged me in". I assume this is part of their scamming so people think it's genuine.
As I say - only access these types of sites directly by entering the address yourself.
