Compact digital - Fuji FinePix of Canon IXUS 75?

I find that girlies prefer the canon brand and style which is often more important to them than the quality of the product. Also worth a look is the canon IXUS 70 I got one for my girlfiend and her and all her mates love it, it's pretty mu ch the same internally as the 75 but is smaller.

I've found our Ixus gives us a lot of redeye. Basically with any flash photo you're almost guarenteed it...

Same goes for almost any other compact digi camera the very nature of there compact desing putting the flash close to the lense makes them worse!

Fuji cameras have very nice sensors, which are particularly good at low-light and portrait photography :)

Our previous (older) Olympus compact was far better in that department!

thats likeley to be the camera detecting the redeye and removing it on its own!

I suspect not... The Olympus did a couple of flashes (if I recall)... The Ixus just does one. I suspect the older Olympus just did a better job with flash/redeye...

And are you sure compact cameras (from 3-4yrs ago) remove red eye automatically digitally :)

its not particularly hard. the red-eye is quite a repeatable image, and its fairly simple to program in.

but you're right, its the multiple flashes. they cause the iris to close which reduces/removes red-eye.

Are you sure red-eye is removed by any standard cameras by digital means? Can you image the camera going through image slooking for 'red' and removing it? Or performing image recognition to spot faces? I don't believe it's being done...
