The £40 is for the Smart Security. The antivirus + firewall. The antivirus only is £26.99 a year. :)

It works out cheaper to get a three year licence. For av only it is £54.99 for three years which works out as £18.33 per year.
 
And don't forget it is a lot cheaper for renewals with NOD32. I just checked on my familys PC and it works out around £17 for a 1 year licence and £27 for 2 X 1 year licences.

Have to agree with that, I used the suite for a couple of weeks, the firewall, etc drove me crazy. Comodo's learning mode is far superior.

Although I do miss ZoneAlarm Pro:(

I got a 3 user licence for Kaspersky for £18 so £6 each. It's meant to be the best in terms of detection rates. I've been using free stuff up until now but my brother still manages to get infected and break his machine so I shall see how this fairs and deny him admin rights :rolleyes:

I actually just ordered the AV but due to stock levels they sent me the full blown internet security suite for £6 a pop.

NOD32 was good but not the best for detection rates, i found it a good compromise for performance and safety. Great for laptops with their slow hard disks. But it is expensive now and not worth the extra. AVG and avast annoy me because of the constant popups and alerts when they are updating. NOD just used to sit there and keep quiet unless something was wrong.

I know. They'll say they can't get the staff nowadays. If you pressure them they'll give you a refund and be really nice to you. Imagine the damage you could do to their reputation if you went to the press! :eek: ;)
 
What is you guys opinion on Agnitium Outpost firewall? it used to come highly recommended, although i do find it pops up and asks lots of questions.

My recomendation would be Bitdefender AV+ av,fw,as, and spam filter all in 1 product not a system hog and 2 year license can be had for 32.99 or less. Used it for the last 3 years and never had a virus, although knowing where you are going and what you are doing helps :)
