The developer of Manhunt 2 has won its appeal to force the the British Board of Film Classification to look again at its ban on the game's release.
The game has twice been rejected by the BBFC for certification, effectively banning the game for sale in the UK.

Developers Rockstar contested the ban at the Video Appeals Committee, which ruled in the firm's favour.

The game could now go on sale, if the BBFC, which is "considering the judgement", takes no further action.

People will still get it even if it is banned from UK, but i dont see what the problem is, some nuts in a suit who spend their time sipping cocktails at the side of a pool at barbados telling us what we can and cannot do (within reason).

Totally obsurd.

I fully agree, this is all down to the age old point that they just want to blame video games for all the worlds misdeeds as oppose to the crap Governments pull.

If someone is so messed up that this type of thing causes them to go on a rampage, i somehow think a measly purchasing ban is hardly going to stop them, after all, that is the type of person who will download/pirate the game anyway.

Silly.. just put an 18 badge on the front of it and let people buy it...

I remember the "controversy" of the first game... yet the parents blame an 18 game when their children who were under that age were playing it? fools!

I doubt the shoddy graphics could cause a mentally sound 18+ year old to go crazy and start killing people...

It's ******* ***** anyway, hope the ban is upheld to keep the crap game off the shelves.

ooooo - who ****** on your fire? :p

This game will sell like hot cakes. Mainly due to the fact that everyone wants to play the game which is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad, its been banned twice.

its not all that good, i played it on PSP, the kill scenes are not shown properly taking the fun out of it slightly, i'll stick with the original :D

Committee board room....

Member 1: Okay, this video game is going to turn kids into maniacs...
Member 2: But its hard to say the game will turn them, its closer to some kids having a capacity to kill and this de-sensitises it... making it easier for them to do it.
Member 1: Either way, allowing it for everyone when a few kids could become psycho's is a bad decision.
Committee chairman: Wise choice! Case closed.
Member 2: But sir...
Chairman: CASE CLOSED!
Member 2: Yeah it might be, but i find it hard to imagine potential murderers struggling to overcome the morality of downloading it illegally.
Chairman: Yes but we need to make it look like we do more than getting paid to watch films and play games before everyone else can, this'll keep the parents happy.

Hmmm... i wonder?
