I know the camera is getting on abit now so im wondering is this a good deal or could i get a better camera for around the same amount of money...

Im not really into photograpy but I wouldnt mind getting into it as it seems like a fun thing to do. :)

Thanks

as above really - cant comment on price as the lenses may be of poor quality to start with and may not be in the best condition. However they might be really good lenses for the money so let us know.

Canon 28-105mm and Canon 75-300mm at a guess, neither of which are the best lenses in the world.

edit: Although they're not crap by any means—would certainly be good for a beginner.

I can say that the 10D's a lovely camera. Started with a 350D and then went to a 30D. My gf saw the 30D and stated in no uncertain terms that she wanted something similar. I got her a 10D as it was all i could afford and i've been nothing short of amazed at the performance.

If it comes with some half decent lenses then i'd say the price is pretty good.

Think the gf's 10D cost £200 delivered and with 3 months added warranty.

Remember it has USB v1 so download from the camera is quite slow so i'd recommend a card reader. Besides that it's a great body.

Are they canon lenses if not what manufacturer. What appartures do they have, any stabalization.

Yeah they are canon lenses.

I shall enquire, but he said hes going to bed so wont get a reply until later today i expect.

Thems be the lenses ive been told.

Says they are in near perfect condition...
What's the third zoom lens you mention at the end of the list.

A 10D with bag 3 lenses and a mixture of goodies for £450 seems fair enough to me.

Canon EOS 10D - £180ish
2Gb memory card - £10
2 lenses (28mm to 105mm and a 75mm to 300mm) - £60-£80 each
Two stands (one 6 inches the other 6 foot) - £20
Includes wired remote - £10
Canon DVD of programs - included
Camera bag - £20 (really depends what type/make it is)
2 batteries - £15
Zoom lense (not sure what it is as guy didnt say) - £ impossible to say TBH

So around £400 minus that mysterious zoom lens.

Price looks ok.

Been told...

As far as I can tell, the 28mm to 105mm is the standard lense to use.
The 75mm to 300mm lense is one that allows things a lot further away to be taken a lot clearer.. If I'm right, the bigger the numbers the further away things can be taken a picture of..

So im guessing there is no zoom lense and he used the 75mm to 300mm as it the few times he says he has.

I can tell you for a fact that the 75-300 is an IS lens.

Do it.

There's a Sigma 50mm EX DG macro too. Did you not want that? There is a magnifiery type zoomamabob made by Opteka that's probably the 'zoom' thing. Dunno exactly what it is though.

/edit:

If you don't want the macro lens, I'll have it :p :D

:)

A zoom lens is a lens with a variable focal length. Both of the lenses you mentioned are zoom lenses.

OK cool. :)

So its a good deal then? :)

Or could I get a different / better camera for myself being a beginer and all, without the need for stuff like above? Or is it just worth to go for it...

That is not a fact i would quote out loud, as i own said lens and it is 100% most definitely not a IS lens.
Example A - http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/EF_Lenses/Zoom_Lenses/EF_75300mm_f456III_USM/
Its worth second hand at most £90.

:D

Pics and all. 4th image you can see the big IS badge, and next to it the weird lens adaptor/zoom thing he mentions (probably a screw on teleconverter or something).
