Ebay Watch Help Please - Ive been conned

Whats the betting the people bidding up and his mates lol

Edit I think I will email the seller asking if the deal falls through I will pay £1300 and ignore his emails ;)

Thanks guys, this thread has put my mind at rest a little.

I guess im lucky that up to now, I cant say as Ive had a bad ebay experience.

Imagine if you had paid him and then received that E-Mail!

I would have been suicidal! I'll be watching him incase he relists it.

Dont want anyone else losing that sort of money on a fake :(

I've learnt my bloody lesson tonight. Buy from proper Jewellery stores

First and foremost, it's a good thing you found out. I'd be scorching with rage if i'd have paid and then found out!!!

I think you'll just have to take it on the chin though. It doesn't really matter anyway - if anyone asks about it in future just explain the situation. Although I guess if you care enough you could always hassle Ebay until they remove it.

I know from past expierence if the seller and buyer agree, the seller can file a "buyer not payed form" which you just accept and all the ebay fee's are cleared.

I think you owe Bob a pint :D, really lucky he emailed you before you paid.

I cant believe you would buy a £1200 watch off ebay without papers and not compare this watch with a proper 1. I say pay him the £34 as stupid tax and consider you've got a bargain lesson

Hope you thanked the guy that sent the email!

Exactly what I was thinking.

Just looking at the two images, that watch is so blatantly a fake, I'm absolutely astonished that anyone would even consider paying £1200 on that. I'd be a lot more careful when buying things for that sort of price online, especially from somewhere like ebay.

Very glad you avoided what could have been a very costly mistake! :)

I asked him for his paypal address. He shall be getting some beer tokens sent his way as a thanks :)

Well done. I think he definately deserves your thanks. Not everyone would have done what he did.

A £1200 watch from ebay. I hope you have seen it in the flesh and tried it on.

Also I know it shows the sad state of the world but this really a little more than is safe to spend on ebay, it is so easy to never see the money again and get a fake item if you are lucky/ no item if you arn't.

Looks like you had a lucky escape with this one!

You can and do get decent genuine watches on Ebay, but it's sometimes hard to sift out all of the fakes. I sold an Omega Speedmaster on ebay once, which was genuine and I got almost £1k for it (a bargain for the buyer). In the ad I posted about 10 hi-res photos of it from every angle, including photos of the sales receipts (VISA numbers blurred) and warranty cards.

Btw if you get negative feedback, you can apply to have it removed by Ebay if it's unwarranted. As long as you can prove the item was misrepresented then you shouldn't have a problem.

Looks like this chaps just come back from holiday, bringing some back street bargains with him. Your lucky that guy e-mailed you, otherwise you would have been 1 very sick parrot.

If you look at the guys feedback, he's selling loads of expensive stuff which I bet are all fakes.
Quite a few Adobe Creative Suite 3 at £700 - £800 a pop and also other designer items and Tag watches.

I did find his previous items strange, wonder where he's getting the handbags from?

Why was the handbag "a gift off [his] ex"? I think he's gender confused.
