You guys get out of bed whilst there is still frost on cars?

Damn students :p

I was out at 7.20 this morning, the temp read -1.5c, my traction control was loving the icey roads.

Nah, I turn the car on turn the demister and the heated screen on, and 5 minutes later its ready to go.. just lock the car with the spare key head in and have brekky..

Jobs a good'n

You lot must have no mechanical sympathy if you start them and let them idle for 10 minutes before driving :p

My screen is literally 10 foot from my front door, If that. I just sling water at it :)

lol :o i had to rub off thin layer of that thin icy stuff of my tyres this morning, was abit dodge for first mile.

I've made a discovery this year, well this morning to be exact.

We've Rain-x'd everything except the front windscreen (started raining before i got a chance to finish the car). This morning the only glass with solid frost on it was the windscreen, Rain-x 4tw :)

I had a read of the blurb on the tin of de-icer last week and it does state that it can harm the paintwork.

Me I always scrape or use warm water, the wife wanted de-icer but have convinced her to do the same.

I've used Rain-X on my car windows for quite a few years now and its great stuff.

Heated front and rear windows and mirrors on the Mini + Superb Heater :D

Is the rear one heated too? because mine only seems to have the metal strips on the front?

I've got some rainx but avoided it on the windscreen as I believe it makes smears when using the wipers, might give it a go and maybe use something like Isopropanol Alcohol to get rid of it if it doesn't work.

Yes, most modern cars are fitted with heated rear windows as standard. The heated front window on the Mini comes with the rain sensor as well.
