To cut a long story short I moved house a month ago and there have been some 'issues' with the management board, namely a vindictive retired old eejit with nothing better to do than to police the place 24/7 and make complaints about every little thing - even going so far as to complain about the dirtyness of the cars:rolleyes:

So, I need to write a few letters to the management board. The people who live in my building are all fairly mature and very 'proper' shall we say. Lots of plums in mouths and classical pianists running around.
As I'm am a youngster I think a few of the old snobs don't want my sort around these parts so I want to make as good an impression as I possibly can.

Instead of firing off a bit of notepad paper in a brown envelope I want to make it look as if I have put a bit of effort into the correspondence. I'm after some 'fancy' writing paper and envelops. Having scoured the local WH smith and other such shops I haven't found anything suitable.
Can someone point me in the direction of a writing kit which fits the requirements. Nothing TOO expensive please.

Thanks :)

Perhaps you could use a fancy font instead.

If it were me, no amount of fancy paper or pens would make my illegible scrawl any better.

I'd be pretty impressed if I received correspondence on this tbh.

So would I but that's going a bit far don't you think? I might as well engrave the letter into some marble tablature if I'm going to go that far!

I'm going to handwrite it to add a personal touch. I don't want their babies, just want to do all I can to convince them I'm not a chav youngster.

Have they not seen your smoking jacket and braces?

That's a personal fetish which I keep indoors. I love the feel of the velvet on my skin.

Thanks for that Tomsk, I thought that shop was a coffee shop. Wonders never cease. I'll check it out.

i wouldnt bother man. just type it up nice and post it off. who in the world takes any notice of envelopes and stuff? get the content right and you have no worries.
You'd have to meet some of these people to understand. They're really, really posh. I'm out of my depth here :p
The letter I received looked like a team of 10 monks had spent 14 years preparing it.

Write it how they used to write the deeds for houses, and the bind it like a will, sew it together and then wax it shut. That'll impress them,

Get your lawyer to write it up - and then your butler to deliver it.

Begin the letter with 'This letter does hereby convey, confer, grant, assign and otherwise transfer irrevocably all rights in fee simple, including copyright, authors rights and rights to destroy, in 1 (one) seasons greetings' - to make sure it's friendly and all.

Could you invite them round for a dinner party or something?

Jesus, no. I want to keep them at arms length.

I'm not after calligraphy sets or anything of the sort, just some fancy writing paper and matching envelopes. I thought it would be simple to find but after about an hour in town I was proven wrong.

Why stop there? Maybe I should seal the envelope with the tears of a baby deer and have it hand delivered by Princess Diana.

I think the lack of the write stuff in WH Smiths is going to throw people. Generally they would have this kind of thing. Did you ask a member of staff?

Conqueror, get the thicker one, plenty of style to choose from, you can get matching envelopes too.
