Hey guys,

First off, i've decided to up my budget and get something that will last for a while...I'll be using them day in day out so want something very good. It will be used with a 5G iPod but i'm considering amping them too.

The er-4ps are the classic in ear headphones that came to mind straight away, but the ultimate ears super.fi 5s seem to be a very popular choice too, as do the e4c.

Anyone here used all of them? I will be using them for a wide variety of music, and I am used to the excellent bass response and neutrality of my Beyer Dynamic DT770s, which are very flat and true. Mainly rock, the odd bit of hip hop and even a bit of classical (well, thrown in with rock, metallica S&M stylee)

The Etys read to be quite bright, the shures quite a good sound stage and the Super.Fis to be the best all rounders.....what else should i consider in this bracket, and which is the best in your opinions?

Also, unlikely i know, but is there anywhere i might be able to test these?

Thanks,

Tom.

Nope due to health and safety reasons. Would you really want to have a demo pair that's been shoved into wax filled ear canals of other people?

Probably best to buy all three, then sell the other two on the auction site. Those morons would buy used pants with skid marks.

i wouldnt mind paying for the foam inserts or whatever just to try them :(

I used to have some E4c's and they are superb, although the Shure range has been updated now.

The bass on these wasn't great, but the highs more than made up for that and were probably even slightly better than my E500's, although they can't match the bass on them.

Just my 2p, but the E4c's are great.
