Can someone recommend me a 32" HDTV for 360?

I'm interested in a decent brand (not top of the range - I don't want to spend more than £600). I'm interested in the Samsungs (seem to get a lot of praise on here) but the model range is absolutely ludicrous and the website doesn't help. I've got standard Sky at the moment and a 360 and I want one that supports decent connections - Samsung don't appear to support VGA, but whatever the next best thing is...

Any recommendations?

So what should I be looking for in terms of inputs, contrast ratio, response time etc? As I said, it's mainly for the 360 but also (at a later date for HD films and maybe HD Sky)...

If you look around you can get a 37" 1080P LG37LF66 (Model Number) for £616 delivered.

I got mine today, it's fantastic, primarily used as a PC monitor but the 360 looks great too.

Will you be using the tv's speakers or do you have a 5.1 type setup? There's a lot of 32" with really poor speakers, so you'll need to factor that into your decision if you haven't got a speaker system.

I'm using the Samsung 32" R87 something or other and the xbox looks amazing on it, admittedly I don't know much about TV equipment but coupled with the home theatre samsung set I got with it I'm very happy with it for casual gaming

LGs are good on a budget as are Samsung, but for £600 you could probably get a good Panasonic or Sony at 32". I myself got a Panasonic 32TXLD70 something this weekend for £600. highly recommended. if it had not been that would have been a Sony 32S3000.

Connections wise I guess most decent sets should give you 2xhdmi 1xvga 1xcomponent, 2xscart. That covers you for future and present stuff I think. response times are very misleading so you really are best using or seeing one in a shop. Independent shops will let you hook up equipment if you ask nicely etc. 100HZ helps for SD content. Sky will look poor to be honest, but you expect that with LCD unless you have a very good picture processor and/or 100hz. Definitely do not buy over the internet in case there is a problem and you have to waste time posting stuff faffing around. A lot of high street shops are giving 5 year warranties at the moment as well. Buyiong online to save a few pennies is a false economy for things like TVs imo.

It's a hard question to answer as everyone will favour their own set. I previously had a Sharp Aquos and would swear by them but then it broke, then I cried, then I bought the new Panasonic. 'twas a sad tale....

Save yourself some money and get a Samsung LE32R88BD which can be picked up for around £465 atm and it has 3xHDMI, 2xSCART, 1xComponent, 1xPC :)

Thanks for your advice - I ordered a Samsung LE32R87BDX late last night :)

Hope it's here for Christmas - I want to give the CRT to the kids so I can use the 360 without interruption ;)

I saw a 37" Bravia on another site for about £580, probably less than that.

However I'd much rather just stretch to the £615 for a 37" LG 1080P TV. ;)

Edit: Yep this is the Bravia;

Sony KDL-37P3020
* 2 x HDMI connections
* Bravia Engine
* Built-in Digital TV tuner
* Bravia Theatre Sync
- £564.01 (price with VAT)

Then there is;

LG 37LF66
* Full HD 1080P
* Dynamic Contrast Ratio
* Freeview
* 2 x HDMI
- £594.00

You were previously having some overscan issues with HDMI and the PS3 on the LXD70, did you get that sorted out in the end ?

Thanks

Yeah, I think it was specific to Warhawk, as I have not noticed issues in other games. I was just narked cos Warhawk is one of my fave games!! There is option within the game to resize the screen (never had to use it before so didn't even know it was there). Apart from that the TV is great!!! (And I can't get my Mac to output to the screen correctly, but I am working on it, slowly!)

There's a 32" LG with integrated Freeview and 160GB hard drive that looks pretty tasty.

Must.. keep.. wallet.. in.. pocket.......

£600 should get you a very good 32" set. As has already been shown, it's not much of a stretch to get a slightly larger 1080p model.
